Indeed. It surprises me but more than that it makes it better for it. I've become less and less enthralled with self-referential shows that only I as a fan can appreciate. Prodigy has hit a chord that I like and feel I can share with friends and family without begging.I think this really proves PRODIGY is written for both new fans and old ones because only the most die-hard Trekkies would get 90% of these joke
So the shuttle survived the giant space amoeba but not Ensign Garrovick. Garrovicks don't exactly have the best luck in command of space vessels.
Which this episode did fine. If they want to know more, they'll watch TOS.This is suppose to be an entry way for kids/ young adults to get in to Star Trek..

The references don't matter. If Garrovick never existed in TOS and this episode was exactly the same, nothing would change. References are just introduced backstory for those new to it. No knowledge of TOS is required for this story to work. This is suppose to be an entry way for kids/ young adults to get in to Star Trek.. Having the show 50% memberrys kinda ruins it because they don't know what the hell is going on.
Not really. It's introducing concepts to kids so that they can explore more of the franchise, i.e. going on the TNG bridge and things of that sort. Nothing is ruined, and it's doing quite well, if people are able to watch it and enjoy it as either uninitiated or fans.Honestly.. Stop with the call backs.. This is suppose to be an entry way for kids/ young adults to get in to Star Trek.. Having the show 50% memberrys kinda ruins it because they don't know what the hell is going on. Keep it to itself, introducing us to starfleet, having fun ...
MetamurfosisWhat's happening to Murf?![]()
The transporter VFX swirls are also NuTrekian.![]()
Looks more like something from Beyond rather that TOS.
Probably the Beta quadrant, which TOS Enterprise went all over.So where was this planet supposed to be? If the OG Enterprise was able to visit it wouldn't that have to mean they're pretty close to Federation territory currently?
The transporter VFX swirls are also NuTrekian.
