Good observations! I also liked the simple commentary that these guys *would not have gone out with Jen*. Jen seems to be really getting here that other people react to her differently in her different personas, so there's a division there as well.

Vintage Falcon Sneakers, or racist Not My Captain America Sneakers?

Falcon, on his show, was talking about how the Avengers don't get paid, and then we saw the bank foreclose on the Wilson family. Beheading Thanos don't pay the bills.

Sam should lawyer up and get some of that Sneaker money.

Some one is raking in the cash, which is why there's an Avongers hiding from that wealthy horticulturalist.

Shield originally owned the name Avengers.

That may have been sold at a liquidation auction to anyone, if the Power Broker didn't nick it, or Fury put everything in his name originally.

The stuff with the trial was pretty fun.
It really takes a hell of a lawyer to be willing to humiliate herself to win a case like that.
I wonder if we'll see the costume guy anywhere else in MCU after this?

Smart money is on Stark grabbing the rights but if it were me writing it; I'd say all profits from any officially licenced merch go to a charity for people that have been displaced/bereaved by falling debris and murderbots.

The way Sam was talking, it sounded like these days they're basically running on handouts.

I get that this was important to his family boat plotline, but it never made sense to me. The show opens with him on a mission for the U.S. Air Force; he did this for free? And then he and Bucky are flying all over the world, with stops in Munich, Madripoor, Lithuania...

Quite the lifestyle for a couple of unemployed bums.

The economics of superheroes makes as little sense as the physics does. Just roll with it.

    Illegal black budget.

    The IRS.

Breaking Bad. Saul explaining money laundering to Jessie.

Sam can't legally explain his money, and if he gives his secret spy money to his sister, it's like he's a meth dealer, and his sister will go to jail for using unexplainable money.

Although one of the funniest lines from The Bruce Willis Movie Armageddon was "No more taxes. If we save the world, none of us have to pay taxes ever again."

Stark could make that deal while people are being murdered, others would wimp out and save Eastern Europe from cyberconversion with out working out compensation.

I could see them getting free flights just because a pilot wanted to brag about meeting two Avengers.

"Avengers Clearance" might give Avengers a equivalent rank to Colonels or Generals that they can just order millions of dollars of hard ware to move thousands of miles across the world.

Oh, I do, I certainly do. But here's the thing about suspending disbelief: Suspend it on one thing, keep the rest real, and you get a genuinely great piece of sci-fi.

Suspend disbelief on a dozen things and it becomes fantasy. Keep doing it and there comes a point where you say, "Jeez. No one would actually do that."

Look, Avengers #1, it's cataclysmic emergency and they all stepped up. After that, if they're expected to be responsible and answer to any kind of authority then at the very least they are contractors and should be paid. If they aren't then the story should provide them with some means of surviving as individuals in an actual real world that has an economy.

They're pushing it with Sam and Bucky. That's all I'm saying. And it comes into focus when Sam's family is broke and so is Sam.

The Avengers should have ended up like the Ghostbusters at the outset of the second movie, sued by everyone for damages incurred by their shenanigans. I get far more annoyed by the likes of Watchmen or the Nolan Batman films where there is a pretense to verisimilitude. Trying to inject realism into the adolescent power fantasy of folks in silly suits beating up other folks in silly suits kills my willing disbelief. I enjoy Cloony's Batman a lot more than the Nolan Batman for embracing the Adam West ridiculousness of these things. Marvel has kept a great balance between making these films entertaining for a wide variety of fans by not worrying about realism beyond what is strictly necessary.

Fun little ep but I didn’t rate the B-story. In fact tbh my mind was wandering during those scenes.
And I guess those expecting a certain horn headed dude to show up will have been disappointed!

Yeah unless Mr Immortal has some part to play in the final episodes it does seem like filler and a very roundabout way of leading them to the website and the death threats.

The wedding stuff was light and fluffy fun however.

I would describe the whole show that way. It is a light and fun fluff kind of show.
