Better episode this week over the last but I wish the actual court scenes were a little more stretched out. Nice tease for the Daredevil mask though.

Should have used the mask reveal as the post-credits scene. Other than that, a fun episode.

Yeah I was surprised there was no mid-credit sequence this week. The reveal would have been perfect for it.

Does DD still have a secret identity? I was wondering how that works with the superhero costume guy.

Given the way it came across, I think is was slated to be the mid/post credit scene (as there wasn't one this week); but they decided it was better to just use it as the actual end of the episode so no one accidently missed it.

If you kill nazis, aliens or monsters, then you're a super hero and everyone loves you, and it's cool.

If you go out every night and break a dozen arms, belonging to citizens with rights and lawyers, then you're a vigilante who needs to be hunted down, get a day in court for every arm you broke and then probably sit in jail for a hundred years, even if every broken arm belonged to a rapist-murder, you have to legally prove that the rapist murder is a rapist murderer, and that breaking their arm was necessary in protecting other people who were being rape murdered, just like a police officer has to do, every time they break an arm or draw their gun.

How many times do you think there was a misunderstanding, and Daredevil broke the wrong arm? An innocent arm?

I thought episode five, while not bad, was quite a big weaker than episodes three and especially four. It felt too short, but at the same time felt like it didn't have enough story? I was expecting more from Jameela Jamil's Titania. The influencer stuff at the start of the episode was funny, but after that she barely did anything. And the "super powered" part of "super powered influencer" was a non factor. I know she's going to return later in the season but my feeling five episodes in is that she's severely underused.

Agreed. More to the point, he felt like Pug from the comics.

A slightly different social context? Or are all the people you know one note cutouts defined by their jobs?

That would be fairly easy to explain, if you really wanted to. Matt just uses a middle man. The designer never meets him, just somebody sent to pick up a box. The guy who picks up the box has no idea what is in it, just that he picks it up from a clothing designer and delivers it to a lawyer.

Now, I know what you're thinking. How does the designer make a suit if he never meets Matt? Doesn't he need measurements? But you're forgetting that Matt already got a suit from Melvin Potter. The new guy is just updating an existing look. Matt either gave him the measurements Melvin already had or just gave him the entire suit to recreate.

Anyone else spot the Deadpool, X-Men, and F4 easter eggs? That was cute.

Not much to say about the episode, but I'm still really enjoying it all. Still fun, still funny. I like how petty and low stakes the plot can be; that's just perfect for a cute lawyer show.

The show remains fun, throwaway fun but fun nonetheless.

Re Titania, does she basically just have some increased strength or is there more to her powers? Also is she a character from the comics or one they've made up for the show?

Secret Wars 1 (1984). Doctor Doom experiments on some random women while trapped in outer space. When he's finished, one has volcanic lava powers and the other is a muscle woman. They become enforcers for Doom. In their first fight, Titania and The Wrecking Crew (who are also in the new Disney Plus TV show) almost beat Jennifer to death. In the 200 other fights since then, Jennifer has won, and Titania is not happy about it, so she keeps coming back for more, to prove that she is not a loser, because she has baggage.

She has been romantically involved with Absorbing Man and they frequently caused havoc together. Or least they did back in my comic book reading days.

They've been married for ages, and the Absorbing Man was used/cast on Agents of SHIELD a very long time ago.

Recently, maybe 3 years ago, she was part of the Canadian version of the HulkBusters: Gamma Flight, with her husband (and others). Her choice was Canadian Jail or kill the Hulk. Technically she was on orders from Elizabeth II. ( a few issues of immortal hulk and a 5 issue Gamma Flight mIni series.)

Last month, Shulkie and Titania buried the hatchet and started a super human fightclub, where they got to have fun fighting each other and no one went to jail again.
