Now that's the Lois I know and love! I watched those long ago. Maybe it's time for a revisit!

If they were going to do that should have had him appear on S&L and always refer to him as John. You never hear his last name and then it

Meh. Just because Ramsey threw the idea out there in an interview doesn't mean the producers are actually considering it. It just sounds like his speculation to me.

I doubt WB/Discover will want to splurge on a big budget CGI show just after the slashing from the WB/DC merger. They might throw him a bone and do a special commemorative comic

"First Issue. John Diggle is the new Green Arrow!"

That would be nice right? Cementing John Diggle as an official comic character and new Green Lantern in the DC comic universe.

While I would love to see him as a GL, I've pretty much given up hope of ever seeing it happen on screen.

He looks more like Jonathan now with that haircut. Nice to see Cavanaugh directing something other than Flash!

Cavanaugh has directed S&L before. He does a fine job.

Not a proper Superman show if no one gets recast. :)

Oh, yeah, you have a point.

Adventures of Superman: Phyllis Coates/Noel Neill (Lois)
Superboy: John Haymes Newton/Gerard Christopher (Superboy), Scott Wells/Sherman Howard (Luthor)
Lois & Clark: Michael Landes/Justin Whalin (Jimmy), Phyllis Coates/Beverly Garland (Lois's mother), Mel Winkler/Brent Jennings/Richard Belzer (Inspector Henderson)
    Smallville: Terence Stamp/Julian Sands (Jor-El)
DC Animated Universe: Tim Daly/George Newbern (Superman)
Supergirl: Laura Benanti/Erica Durance (Alura), Robert Gant/Jason Behr (Zor-El).

I don't think Krypton recast anyone, aside from younger and older versions of the same character. But it technically wasn't a Superman show, just Superman-adjacent.

It used to happen a lot with DC shows in general. Batman '66 recast Catwoman twice and Riddler once. Shazam! replaced Jackson Bostwick with John Davey in the title role. Wonder Woman had three Hippolytas, Cloris Leachman, Carolyn Jones, and Beatrice Straight. Birds of Prey recast the male lead's father from Stephen McHattie to Mitch Pileggi, which was unconvincingly handwaved as plastic surgery. Over in Marveldom, the '70s Spider-Man replaced David White as J. Jonah Jameson in the pilot with Robert F. Simon in the series.

I think for Smallville, Julian Sands was just laying a younger Jor-El. Stamp still voiced the character in the fortress afterwards.

I guess technically Jor-El and his AI "ghost" are two different characters anyway.

Smallville recast Morgan Edge, though. Pretty prominently, too, as the first actor to play the role was Rutger Hauer. Explained it away with plastic surgery.

Right, I forgot that one. Patrick Bergin took over the role.

And we thought that S&L recast Edge and Sam Lane from Supergirl, but it turns out it's a whole different universe.

Why did they recast Rutger Hauer? He just wasn't available for more appearances?

Minor updates to the Superman suit for season 3. I think they went in the wrong direction and now it looks even more fake regarding the abs area
