Isn't wasn't really all that funny imo.

Also Jellico banned the Zebulon Sisters from performing the Choo Choo dance on active duty ships. Why does that man hate happiness so much?

I expected that they'd resolve that "Captain Freeman is under arrest" plot pretty quickly, glad they did it in the first episode, a temporary captain would have sucked.

Sorry no. A person who doesn't like the Zebulon Sisters has to be some degree of pure evil. It also discounts the 250% moral boost that is proven to be created by a performance of the Chu Chu dance on a ship.

It clearly shows that he is Star Fleet's current Badmiral. Possibly the worst in its history.

Janeway has been an admiral, possibly current. Definitely not the worst.

Also to bring this back to the episode, it was nice to finally learn that Boimler is indeed meant to have purple hair, and that the colour comes from a bottle.

I think you might be right. And perhaps Jellico isn't the only one he's controlling. When he was DJ at that Command Conference Afterparty, he used his DJ act to mind control most of Star Fleet command!
Though he might be working with Sonny Clemonds, which would explain how he got popular enough that people would cause stampedes during his concerts...
They are probably trying to sabotage the Zebulon Sisters because they are their biggest competition for the Alpha-Quadrant-Vision Song Contest!

This is why the Federation is a bit shitty in Picard. Without the Zebulon Sisters and after the destruction of Romulus and Mars, people lost all hope.

Still the best of nuTrek. I'm trying to come to terms with all of the uniform variants though. Is there any in universe logic? Or is it just to make our crew stand out from the crowd? The majority of Starfleet appears to still be in the standard FC blacks.

I know Denny (the elderly transporter chief) is wearing the DS9/Voyager uniform mostly to represent the fact that he's old, but on his wall, there's a photo of a young woman (who I'm guessing is his daughter?) who appears to be wearing the uniform from Picard Season 2.

It has the simplest lines, looks the most comfortable, and the colors are distinct without feeling garish. I like it the most for what we have seen for this time period.

I find it very annoying, as I did uniform inconsistency in "Discovery."

I'd be fine with them moving on from the FC uniforms to something akin to the older TNG style, but why both? Ugh. These are the things that keep me up at night, fueled with simmering rage.
