Spoilers Season 3 wild speculation

Matalas has indicated the villain is a new character, played by a well-known actress not from Trek. Unless he's completely lying, I doubt Sela/Crosby is the one.

Yeah, and if he's lying, it's a weirdly specific lie. I'm just going to make my life easier and assume he's on the level on this one.

Maybe it's time to start scouring imdb for actresses who've been in a ton of stuff. Start a betting pool.

There’s no reason for Matalas to lie about anything. He’s been open with the fans since he became the showrunner. If anything, he would just not give things away or give clues; he wouldn’t make shit up that will bite him in the ass later.

It would be great, in my opinion, if TWOK could be left behind, and if that standard could change. Thus far, I don't see that happening.

For many decades now I think Trek producers and writers got the wrong lessons from The Motion Picture's weaknesses and The Wrath Of Khan's strengths, and this is from a viewer who just thought Into Darkness was only the 5th or so worst ST flick ever and not much more objectively horrid than The Search For Spock (some fans who earnestly say it's the worst need to go on more daily brisk 30 minute walks).

I think that Kurtzman and Co. are deliberately click baiting us and we just want a functional space adventure like Beyond crossed with the better TNG/DS9/VOY ancient archaelogical crossed with Big Dumb Object mission (like we had with some parts of S1).

Oh, I know they are. I hate my browser homepage because of click bait based articles but they know fans will take one sentence and create it in to a whole narrative. Damn my high school English class for making me be able to do that because I hated writing papers!

Ugh. Please, let that ugly guppy not be the new ship.
We've seen what is possibly the new ship from a set video, it's not an Odyssey.

Also Terry just said in that image that the Ent-F isn't the hero ship.

RMB is now claiming
That they visit the Ringship Enterprise. I'm pretty sure he's joking/trolling with this

I can't see this as making any sense. The ring ship was pre-warp, so it wouldn't really be a great vessel to steal and hope to get very far. I'm pretty sure he's just making a joke.

Maybe we’ll see the Enterprise section of the Fleet Museum, featuring the ringship, NX-01, Enterprise-A, B, the saucer section of the D and the newest exhibition, the E.

Total fanwank. Sign me up!

I'm sure that's exactly what we'll see. And the TNG crew will tour the D saucer.

Maybe they will steal the Enterprise D saucer section from the museum and attach it to a ‘Warp Sled’ so that they can save Picard’s son… it would look a bit like the USS Cerritos.

They can use my scrap Eaglemoss Build the Enterprise D model saucer section if they want…. they can *have* it. :klingon:

It’s about time that they returned to using physical spaceship models rather than purely CGI. :D

Reminds me when I first saw Generations, I thought for a while that the final shot of the Farragut was actually the Enterprise saucer section on some sort of sled getting taken away.

I’d never seen a Nebula Class ship at that point. Plus I was 11.

My speculation is that the people whining on the internet that Season 1 was an insult to fans for not having the rest of the TNG cast are now saying it's lazy fan service for Season 3 to have the TNG cast in it.

There's no pleasing some people. :sigh:

Well I don't think they're stealing it, it's just the saucer that's the museum. Plus laVar said they only filmed on the set for 3 days.
The story concept was that they go on a tour and the guides don't recognize them. Perhaps they have to get some kind of data chip from one of the bridge consoles. Kinda like SG-1 2010 :D
Do you have a link to that interview?
