Other than the ridiculous Supermax escape I enjoyed the episode. I think the show is better than Moon Knight which I really loved.

There's only so much any good actor can do with material like that. Mount had the distinct advantage of having zero dialogue, so it was all about his performance, essentially unhindered by the scripts.

She didn't call herself that, everyone else called her that and she hated it.

Toby McGuire Peter Parker didn't name himself Spider-Man. Comics Thing and Hulk were named by terrified females passing through, and given Marvel sliding time they probably tried to become Instagram famous from the deed.

They did accept those names, though. Kamala hasn't. And - judging by the show's title - she won't.

Young Justice after ten years has never called itself Young Justice.

I understand that Kamala is going to run from the name Night Light or Knight Lite as hard and fast as possible, but that does not mean that she's going to call herself Ms marvel, because the asshats making these shows/movies have "always" thought that they can do better and be cooler than comic books by toning down the bright colours, code names/secret identities and hyper realism.

I just scanned the scripts for Moon Knight.

    https://subslikescript.com/series/Moon_Knight-10234724

The words Moon Knight was used once.

    Episode 5.

Konshu preches "Then rise. Rise and live again. As my fist of vengeance. As my Moon Knight." When Marc is dead, so he might not have even heard the "name" more so than job description.

I admit I love how the Red Daggers are the Assassins from Assassins Creed now instead of one Pakistani superhero.

Yep, the Supermax escape was pretty weak--but overall, I really enjoyed these last two episodes. At the end, I don't think Kamala is having a vision. She has really gone back in time and will need to rescue her grandmother to take her to the train on the trail of stars or whatever they called it a few episodes ago.

Small thing to dwell on I know, but I can't help but wonder if the super-max escape was planned to be something more elaborate, but they just didnt' have the money/time/whatever. Still, for credibility's sake they should have just staged the escape before they got to the prison, say for example; while they were being transported. Or better yet don't have them even be captured, just have the DoDC force them to ground. It's the kind of thing where you really need to fully commit, or not bother.

That episode was a bit all over the place.
Clandestine‘s were swept aside rather unceremoniously in favor of an in depth background story about Kamala‘s ancestors (not really complaining here).
In fact, the only reason for the Clandestine to even be there seemed to be to trigger the time jump.
Her little time travel adventure felt very Impossible Girl.

It‘s not clear who the actual baddie in the finale will be, if there even is one.

What are the chances either Carol Danvers and/or Monica Rambeau will make an appearance at least in the Post credits?

Full disclosure; two generations of my family were raised Anglo-Indian (cultural, not ethnic) and I grew up hearing my grandmother tell stories of her childhood in India . . . so I have very complicated feelings about this whole subject.

Still, overall I felt this episode was better than the last in terms of balancing action and story, though it still all feels a little rushed. Najma's turn was just so abrupt that it honestly felt a little hollow to me. We haven't spent nearly enough time with some of these characters for the more emotional scenes to actually land and feel earned.

I can't shake the feeling that this whole show is trying to jam a 12-16 episode season into just 6 episodes, and it's really struggling to make it all work. I almost wish they'd saved a lot of this stuff for a second season, though I suppose with 'The Marvels' coming up soon they just couldn't wait?
Even though Carol feels like the obvious choice, somehow Monica seems the more likely.

the flashback to Kamala-Nani's parents and how they met/evolved was very nice.
the whole train station setting depressing/traumatic. (I'm gonna read up on that part of history to learn, had no idea really)

Kamala's "light steps" crumbled into sparkling stars = my mind: "MCU" Terrigen Crystals?
It seemed like the "Noor" kinda gave people shells like Sky/Daisy/Quake got during her inhuman transformation, just that instead of transforming, these here perished.

the Noor-portal thing and how Kamala convinced the Noor Lady to help because of Kamran was cheesy and overall felt anti-climatic. Her powers then went into Kamran?! So he's the haunted/misunderstood lonely future bad guy?

Loved however Kamala's Mam picking up her necklace, now in the form of Ms. Marvel logo - transformation/acceptance and Nani/Mam/Kamala group hug.

Overall I really like Kamala becoming Ms * Marvel and like the family/community centric characters and story-lines.
the whole "Noor story part" is not well paced (from the We're your friends > wedding fight > fleeing the supermax > face off to conclusion)
Also seriously WTF is with the drone, weirdo government agency.

Iman Vellani is a joy to watch in this role.

Between this and Multiverse of Madness, cramming way too much in and short-changing characterisation as a result seems to be the new Marvel norm. It's still a lot of fun, and not without emotional heft, but it can't help ringing a little hollow.

One touch I particularly like, that I hadn't noticed until a friend pointed it out: Kamala's gotten a part of her Ms Marvel costume in each episode.

This was a weird one. While I enjoyed seeing more about Kamala's family history, it didn't feel necessary for Kamala to travel back in time to save Sana when the bangle itself could've done it all by itself. Kamala's presence in that moment didn't feel like it added anything, although I did love the emotional beat of Kamala returning the photograph to Sana. I think I get what they were going for with that sequence but I don't think it worked as well as they intended.

As for the rest of the surprisingly short episode, it was odd that Najma would sacrifice herself like that after seeing how the Veil instantly killed her comrade, but I guess the idea is she did it to close the Veil...although that whole thread feels like it was a cul-de-sac now. So now her powers are with Kamran who appears to be afraid of this gift and has sought help from Bruno...but is he being genuine about trying to find help or is he just trying to use Bruno to get to Kamala when she returns? I don't know, that whole moment felt off...and then, oh yeah, Damage Control is still around if anyone still cares (I don't).

I love this show and how it has delved deeply into Pakistani culture, but this episode felt like it sucked the air out of everything and there's only one episode left. I want to have faith (no pun intended) that all of this will come together next week but I'm not sure how satisfying it'll be after this episode.

Yes, hollow. That's the feeling I was trying to grasp at. I agree we didn't get to know her well enough beyond a two-dimensional villain driven by a singular goal and damn the consequences. The turn wasn't earned.

I suspect they'll save the Carol/Kamala meeting for The Marvels, so if anyone appears, it'll be Monica. But not entirely certain that even she'll appear.

Najma's turn was so out of nowhere that I didn't even understand what I was seeing. Did she sacrifice herself to close the portal because she thought it would destroy the world and kill the son she abandoned? You'd think she would have thought about that when she was abandoning him! Or was she not expecting to actually die and thought she could close it then go back and get him? I don't know, as I said before I think Clandestine have been terrible villains and have dragged the whole show, which I thought was truly great in its first two episodes, down. And now it looks like Kamran is going to turn bad in under one episode just so that Kamala has someone with similar powers to fight in the finale. I hope I'm wrong and it's just them teaming up against Damage Control (who are kind of lame too but at least they're solid villains)...

All the visual inventiveness of the first two episodes has disappointingly disappeared too.

Yea. Kamala's "world view" was so unique and interesting and has been completely wiped/edited out. It turned it from something unique into more or less the same as all the other Disney+ Marvel Series in how they're presented visually.

Get a sneak peek at Kamala's final costume in action with the Avengers battling Ultron courtesy of Disney Cruise lines.

I would tend to agree because, canon or not, they didn't even meet in this short little adventure despite both of them being in it.
