the arm and hand where this "arm let" was taken from surely looked Kree-Blue...

the big punch during the wedding reception was fun.
    poor genious Bruno/Bryan.

Looking forward to diving deeper into the story.

Certainly some mixed messages on the lore front. Blue arm suggests Kree, which leans towards the Inhuman connection (or I guess just a relatively fresh-ish human corpse could be that colour.) While the ten rings site plus the magical accessorising and the people from another "dimension" (pet peeve I know, but it always bugs me to hear the term so misused) leans much more towards the 'Shang-Chi', both of which would appear to be mutually exclusive.

I mean I guess totally-not-sinister-train-vision person could have been lying and Kamala's great-grandmother wasn't one of them, but an Inhuman they they duped into leading them to a temple with a Kree artefact. But then how does her grandmother get the same vision all the way over in Karachi without the bangle? That seems like more of a "Jinn" type of thing.

Side note; how many damn pocket dimensions are there in Asian filled with crazy immoral martial artists?! I count three so far: K'un-Lun, Ta Lo, and now Noor? (Also; honourable mention for Kamar-Taj, I guess?)

Speaking of which; if Noor is the "Light Dimension", does that relate at all to 'Cloak & Dagger'? IIRC the "darkforce" that Cloak uses (which also showed up on AoS & AC) comes from the Dark Dimension (home of Dormammu), so does that mean Dagger's 'lightforce' comes from Noor?
Hmm, maybe the whole "we were exiled from Noor" story is total BS. If Jinn is a synonym for 'demon', and we already know at least one demon comes from the dark dimension (clue is in the name, no?) so wouldn't it track that they're actually from there and they're trying to break *into* the light dimension, because: demons?
We've also seen people attain effective immortality by drawing on the dark dimension before, so that appears to track.

The bangle was excavated from a Hindu ruin and found on a hand broken off of a statue of Vishnu.

Either one could be correct. Vishnu was the first thing that occurred to me, but it might be a red herring. The only thing that actually says Kree to me is the "Mar-Vell" in the title character's name, but for Kamala that's just pop culture in her teenage world.

I'd love The Inhumans to get a do-over alongside The Fantastic Four. And this is Marvel, so tie-ins are a given. So far everything speaks of Pakistani/Indian culture, language, religion and myths. I'm just enjoying the ride.
Jinn are neither good nor evil (in our world's religions, myths, and legends anyway); like humans, their actions can be either or both. If they were exiled from Noor there was a reason, probably being that they leaned toward the evil end of the scale.

ClanDestine? Clan-fricking-Destine? Who the hell had (admittedly a majorly changed version of) them on their list of characters likely to show up in the MCU?

Another fantastic episode that neatly balances the cultural elements (I especially loved the entire wedding sequence!) with the supernatural of whatever the origins the bangle might be.

To be certain, I don't think we've reached the full truth of the situation. While the motivations of the jinn/Noor/Clandestines are clear, I still distrust who they really are. I think they're still holding back on particular information and I wouldn't be surprised if Nani will provide some insights if and when Kamala goes to Karachi.

Nakia is understandably upset that Kamala didn't tell her about alter ego (yet told Bruno) but hopefully any tension between the two of them doesn't last long and Nakia will quickly see that Kamala was scared and uncertain of what she was doing.

Definitely a rabbit hole of possibilities but I imagine your theorizing about the possible Light and Dark Dimensions aren't as connected as it could be. I suspect some of that is purely coincidental or just repetitive, so I'm not going to worry about that too much, no matter how much I want Cloak and Dagger to return.

As for a lot of pocket dimensions in Asia, I see no problem there. One it's a very big place and with a wide variety of cultures and histories. Contrast that with the many, many, many things that occur just in New York City.

Curious how there seems to be conflict of the nature of the blue arm (I didn't even think of Vishnu, just immediately assumed Kree for obvious reasons), but I also didn't even notice the Ten Rings reference either.

But in the end, I imagine some of these possibilities are just red herrings and aren't quite as convoluted as it might initially appear. I think at this point, Feige and company are well aware that fans are going to deep dive everything they see at this point. Why not send us down some dead ends on the way to the truth?

Never heard of them. So what?

It was another good episode, the wedding was very fun and the family/community stuff continues to be great. I thought Kamran's mum going from being nice to Kamala to attacking the wedding happened way too quickly though. I guess the idea is that once she knew Kamala was researching the bangels she knew Kamala wouldn't help them (due to the explosions helping them would cause) but it felt like there should have been at least one more scene between her and Kamala first.

I'm well aware. I'm only drawing the direct comparison because the show has already explicitly done so. Clearly these are baddies, so I don't see why that would be in contention here.
I didn't say it was a problem, just that it was such a weirdly specific trope repetition.

    Kamran?

The closest thing to Jinn in Western mythos are Elves. Not human. Potentially immortal. Not "good" or "evil" even by our standards, all depending on what they do.

I don't really agree with "explicitly".

But whatever. At this point let us just watch and enjoy, and we can argue later. :)

Dude, the show literally had an exposition dump liking djinn to demons. Their words, not mine.

It had stories calling them demons, seemingly contradicted those stories right off the bat, then had them do a heel turn after all. But the fact that Kamran is genuinely working against them still suggests the stories are exaggerated or overgeneralized at best. Plus the part where I highly doubt Kamala's great-grandmother is going to be a literal demon. She's Ms. Marvel, not Satana.

The point is that the writers deliberately want the audience (particularly those of the non-Islamic persuasion) to draw that comparison because "demons = bad/untrustworthy". It's a story, not an academic thesis. Relax.

This is turning out to be the best Marvel show in quite a while for me. Maybe I haven’t been as into one of their shows as this since The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Everybody from the comics is perfectly cast.

I remember reading the original run of the comics when it came out ten years or so ago. I was stoked when I heard Kamala would’ve joining the MCU and I haven’t been disappointed so far.

I read the comics awhile back and am *loving* this show! Kamala is adorkable! And her dad is such a... dad.

Nice little shoutout to Dr. Erik Selvig.

I can't wait to see what we learn with Nani!

Before you start "Duding" me, you might want to re-watch from about 16:00. Dude: it's not about who you are, it's about what you do. Think about that, and why the writers thought to put that in.

Personally, that was a pretty important message.

I guess for you, maybe not so much.

    Poor you.
