Oh man
THE U.S.S. STARGAZER: The featurette takes a deep dive into the creation of the U.S.S. Stargazer from conception to build out and features exclusive timelapse photography alongside Production Designer Dave Blass, who brought the original TNG art department onboard, including the famed Star Trek graphic artist Michael Okuda, and design artists Doug Drexler and John Eaves to recreate the latest U.S.S. Stargazer.

THE CHATEAU: Led by Production Designer Dave Blass and Prop Master Jeff Lombardi, the featurette explores the transition of Picard’s chateau following its redesign and conversion to the Dataverse in season one.

Love this..! Do wonder why this is released BEFORE DSC S4….? It’s not logical…

So, October for US, that means probably November or December for us in EU. I have been buying these individual seasons because there is always a possibility that there won't be a complete series box released after the series concludes.

Age of physical media is quickly coming to an end, but I hope these boxes still get released. At least Paramount still releases Blu-rays of their series.

What delay? You mean the gap between the two physical media releases? Likely related to the fact that Paramount is aware most fans live on a budget and want to give them breathing room between making purchases.

Or is this about Picard season 3 coming in February? Presumably there are marketing and or production related reasons behind that.

I was talking about the delay between Picard's S2 DVD release and S3.

S2 came out about a month after the release of the S1 DVD. I found the delay curious.

S2 came out about a month after the release of the S1 DVD.
Wut? Season 1 of Picard was released on DVD October 2020. Season 2 premiered March 2022. If anything, Season 3 will be premiering much sooner after the DVD release of Season 2 than Season 2 premiere after the DVD release of Season 1.

There was a litte thing called Covid-19 ...

I presume that Picard S3 is coming before Discovery S5, so they wanted to get the Blu-ray out first. I wouldn't be surprised to see S4 out in time for Christmas, though.
They just started filming Disco Season 5 in June. I'll be surprised if it comes out before this time in 2023, at the earliest. So, if I were betting, I think DSC S4 will come out on Blu-Ray/DVD in Spring of '23.

I would love to be wrong. So, if I am, I'll be pleasantly surprised. Almost like I'd be getting a Christmas Present. ;)

Lower Decks's S2 DVD is coming July 12th (with S3 coming in August).
Picard's S2 DVD is coming in October (with S3 slated for February).

Why the delay?

Do we have any studio confirmation of the PIC S3 release date? Last I heard, February was Brent Spiner's guesstimate. And with the new Stargazer comic supposedly wrapping in October, and the DVD release in the same month, it did seem like they were heading for a last quarter of 2022 release.

Those DVD release dates are only for the US. The rest of the world tends to get the DVDs way after after the US. Probably in December. They won’t have season 3 air on Prime here when season 2 isn’t even out on DVD yet, so, February 2023 seems like a much more likely date.

I agree, that seems the most likely.

You are correct in that the February 2023 premiere date is just Brent Spiner's guess. However, all that means is that the actual premiere date could be later, or if it is before February, it'll be January. At the very least, I feel certain season 3 will not have a 2022 premiere date.

STLD will be 10 weeks... Then maybe 5-10 weeks of Prodigy? Then likely Picard season 3. So somewhere between October 2022 to February 2023 is highly likely. That'd then be followed by SNW S2, and finally that show with the contested acronym ;) before / after STLD S4...
