Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

So many DS9 characters that need follow ups. Except Sisko. Any follow up on his character honestly would seem hollow IMO.

You know, it's 26 years since Sisko disappeared. That's enough time to finally introduce
his child that Kasidy was pregnant with before he vanished.

Or they can be cowards and introduce a new Dax.

"Map of archaeological sites on Bajor for Picard’s desk at the chateau…a request from Patrick Stewart, always happy to comply with anyone who has a “Sir” before their name…"

He also designed a lot of the Confederation universe badges

*EDIT*

Sorry wrong forum. It was another map I thought I was posting in Strange new world forum .

It was not a spoiler but edited it out anyway and will repost it in SNW. :bolian:

They'll probably put the symbiote in a synth. I mean, after all, they can do mind-melds just by being 'big Vulcan fans' and studying the technique in books. That's how super-powers work, isn't it? Synthia-Dax they'll call her.

Now can I whisper stuff about Sisko in spoiler tags, or am I not one of the cool kids? LOL
The problem with Sisko's kid NOT being in Starfleet is that we already got one of those los... err... 'free spirits'. It might work better if the new son/daughter is a hard-nosed douche who sticks to regulations by the book that no-one can stand, because he is trying to live up to his father's fame as the 'Emissary' (something no-one could possibly live up to, which is probably giving that poor bastitch some major issues). And of course, he gets a redemption arc thing where he finally comes to terms with it all and becomes a little more likable.
I think the fat guy from the bus has earned a spot on the crew- he has been abused by Starfleet personal long-enough! Come on - how funny would an end-credits scene been where they open up a door and he's sitting there in the ready room/whatever, and says, "I'm just as confused as you are". One last joke by Q.

Oh, and we should get a cameo by Harry Kim, just so we can see he is still an Ensign. LMAO

Robert Meyer Burnett, who has despised this show (to put it mildly), has read all of the season three scripts and says it will be the best season of Star Trek television in decades. He compared the season to Top Gun Maverick.

While I think RMB is kind of a nut (I know that's politically correct, but if the word fits...) but Terry Matalas liked and commented on his comments basically confirming that RMB has indeed seen the scripts. After the "mixed bag," that was season 2, I'll reserve judgment until I see S3 but reading of the things RMB (e.g. lots of Starship action and big fleet battles) does make me excited.

I have to say I was disappointed in the second season of picard but I do look forward to season 3 if it happens.

However good S3 may be, I'm not sure it can make up for Rios being "weeping angel'd", Jurati not only being assimilated but presumably being in a living hell for 4 centuries (As Picard himself said about "crewmembers who've already been assimilated. Don't hesitate to fire. Believe me you'll be doing them a favour. ...Let's go.)

Just what were they thinking there? Alison and Santiago must be the nicest people in the business because I think any other actor would've been seriously ticked off (note for example John Boyega and even Oscar Isaac's somewhat bitter comments on the arcs of their characters over at that other star franchise, and even with them the door's still open to come back and improve future storylines, whereas Rios and Jurati are basically torpedoed characters now)

As her and the Queen appear to be living in some sort of a symbiosis running a new Borg collective molded in Agnes's own ideas of cooperation rather than subjugation, I don't think her existence is anything resembling a "living hell."

They got two seasons on a show that's part of a high profile franchise, and from the looks of it both have steady work lined up for them after leaving the show. And presumably they enjoyed the time they spent on the show and working with the other actors and the behind the scenes personnel. I see no reason why they should be "ticked off" about any of that.

Alison Pill stated in a recent interview the entire cast knew from day one the show was probably only going to run three seasons and that it was never guaranteed any of them would be along for the whole ride. She also said she was thrilled with her storyline in S2. Arguably, I think the Agnus/Borg Queen story was probably the best part of an "interesting" season. Also Akiva has strongly hinted Agnus may be back in some form down the road. No one really "dies" in Star Trek.

As for the other cast members, who knows what they really feel but you don't get into acting because you expect job security. Santiago already is working on other stuff, and frankly being a part of Trek means they have a meal ticket for life on the convention circuit if they can't find other jobs. Also, I strongly suspect we're going to get a Seven/Raffi spin-off and it would be easy for them to bring back Elnor and Soji if that's the case.

I think Elnor is probably along for the ride if Seven and Raffi get a spin-off; making him more Raffi's surrogate son than Picard's long-neglected responsibility gives them a kind of family unit. Soji might be a little harder to include given that she's in a pretty important role to her people, but there's a lot that can happen to change that (good or bad!).
