They're being treated like any other character, so why is this an unique problem for them?

They are not being handled like any other character, they are being included just because of what they are. Not because the story demanded it, not because they are good actors ... they were brought in just to make a statement, at least in Discovery.

In the new SNW episode however, the actor/actress delivered a good performance ... only the pronoun thing took me somewhat out of the story.

Went on jammer reviews. He gave this episode 1.5 stars out of 4.thinks the show is loosing momentum. The last few episode have been average though.

So it’s because they’re trans and you take issue with that for reasons you can’t articulate.

Yeah, and for how long have we been calling a single person "them"?
Since about the 1300-1600s, approximately, depending on the history you read.

Well, I knew the positive wave had to crash some day. Too bad, so sad.

You clearly have not watched any episode they were in. They always had a purpose.

I call anyone of any status "them" if I can't remember their name. At the end of the day I'll call them what they want to be called and if I can't remember their name they're getting the "them" treatment and some pointing for identification.

Nobody's immune from "that asshole over there." ;)
