I was thinking the exact same thing. What app do you use for that?

Also, I'm bad with faces. Was the lady in the car at the end the same lady Kamala saw in those visions? And is that lady supposed to be her great grandmother?

Looked like it was just displaying an IR camera feed to me. But we've already seen him cobble together some fairly sophisticated devices from off the shelf hardware, so I wouldn't be shocked if it's something more elaborate.

Of course with this kind of thing it's important to remember that it's more important for a graphic like this to convey a certain clarity of information to the audience, even if the logic of anything actually displaying that information is questionable. Mostly you're just supposed to see that and think "oh, so it's not just a magic bangle doing this on it's own", then move on.

One thing that I'm really liking about the series is how it's showing for the first time what day-to-day life is like for people in the MCU.

Also I'm glad they haven't actually ruled out her being an Inhuman after all.

The only reason I might care about them keeping the Inhuman angle, is if it gets us a return of Daisy.

But sure, it's nice that they can change her powers quite significantly while still keeping at least an element of the comic book origin. Really though, as I mentioned last week the only reason they went with "Inhuman" as the source of her powers is because at the time there was a deliberate push to try and replace mutants with Inhumans. In reality she has nothing really to do with the other Inhuman characters (mostly associated with Miles & Carol IIRC.) They could just as easily made her a mutant, which in the comics requires no explanation, or gone the route the show seems to be with the Magical Bangle of Destiny and it's make no real difference.

Fantastic episode. I loved how the episode took the time to delve into Kamala's family history and Islamic livelihood while she explored her newfound powers and they mean for both of those elements of her life. I also really enjoyed getting to better know Nakia and Bruno and how their lives interweave with Kamala's life.

I figured there had to be some twist with Kamran so that last minute reveal wasn't surprise (and frankly, I was relieved it wasn't the old trope of him being gay and Kamala just couldn't see that). And until that reveal, I half-expected Damage Control to the primary antagonists, especially with Alysia Reiner's Agent Deever being the aggressive, no-time-for-this-shit type of character that Reiner often plays.

I thought that was pretty amusing but I just waved it off as part of his "Guy in the Chair" credentials and went along with it. But your explanation works, too, Reverend.

Yeah, that would be really nice. I don't have any loyalty to the Inhuman part of Kamala's story beyond believing each character's story should stay loyal to at least the spirit of the origin. But I agree that there's the added bonus of getting to see Daisy again.

They could/should have had enough detail to profile her more specifically. I'm assuming they did and moving on.
Yeah, true that. Assuming since he's been offered a place at Cal Tech, I'm riding that and assuming he's seriously capable of modifying his tablet into a tricorder. I'm not sure I'd want to waste episode time watching him do that, unless it's integral to major plot points in the future. I'm more into the "Star Wars style" of "It is what it is and we're not going to walk you through it" kind of storytelling.

It was the same woman. Who it is remains unclear, but it certainly seems likely that it's either Aisha somehow still young or it's Aisha's other daughter/granddaughter from that secret second family someone claimed she had. Which among other things would mean Kamran actually is Kamala's cousin...

I figured daily life would be the same as with ours just with the added layer of superhero celebrities together with entertainment celebrities. With Ms. Marvel and the superhero convention i could totally see this happening. I mean it's already happening with cosplay all around the world, now there just would be a "real" source for it.

The media frenzy would be off the charts kind of like with The Boys ( only far less gore and screwed up characters).

I guess there's zero chance of Agents of Shield returning to MCU canon. AoS was treated like a bad stepchild by the MCU, as if they're embarrassed by it and they didn't know what to do with them. At the start there were some connections but after the first season they divorced silently as you all know.

I don't believe they'll turn her into an Inhuman or Mutant in the show, it could just be an innate power that runs in her family that's been passed through the generations ( anyone wanna bet that her mother could have it too but for some reason has turned away and it may be a reason why she's so hard on Kamala).

Inhumans as a concept failed after the show ( which was really bad) and the MCU doesn't need to push them anymore as a Mutant replacement since they got the rights back. However i don't think the MCU will introduce Mutants in a show, that's reserved for a big blowout movie and only then may continue in the occasional TV show.

We're still early in the show and we will know soon enough.

I'm less concerned with the canonical connections than I am with just having the character back. That said, there's nothing about AoS that precludes it from canon . . . you just have to kinda squint *really* hard around when 'Infinity War' was supposed to be happening.
From James D'Arcy getting a cameo in 'Endgame', to some of the Netflix actors reprising their roles (and rumours of several more on the way) they've already shown they're more than willing to include actors from the TV shows if the fit is right.
Hell, if they're willing to even have a sideways acknowledgment of the utter failure and embarrassment that was 'The Inhumans' by having Anson Mount return as Blackbolt, I think that means literally *everything* is theoretically on the table.
And let's be honest if for the sake of argument they want to eventually go the Alpha Flight route and give Kamala a kind of semi-regular mentor figure, then Chloe Bennet is going to be a much more reasonably get for a streaming show than Brie Larson, plus it makes WAY more sense for a character like Daisy training the newbies for Fury than having Carol babysit them the whole time. (Also, it's one thing to build these shows around supporting characters, it's quite another to do so for the headliners.)
Not that I'm proposing that's how it'd necessarily go down, just an example of how it could work.

What about Monica? Since they will show up together in The Marvels, that relationship/mentorship seems to be almost unavoidable.

Maybe, though it'd feel a little weird considering Monica has had powers for exactly 5 mins longer than Kamala (yes I know it'd be almost 2 years at this point, but still.)
Like I said, I'm not proposing what I think the most likely scenario is, just giving an example of a possibility.

Sure, everything is possible if Marvel wants it to happen but given the extreme disenterest they've shown to AoS past its first season i'm guessing they're only drawing characters from the movies and TV shows now. The Netflix shows are the exception ( there always needs to be an exception) because they have proven to be so popular with the audience and critics that someone high up the chain put his thumbs up, i don't see that happening with AoS unfortunately.

Up until relatively recently there was no reciprocation mostly because they couldn't, because they were deliberately trying to keep that odious fucker away from the movie side of the company. It had nothing to do with the material and everything to do with internal corporate politics. None of that is an issue anymore.

People make it sound like there's some mandate at Marvel Studios to snub AoS, and I'm just not seeing anything that really substantiates that. A lack of any direct AoS synergy in Phase 4 projects thus far doesn't prove anything since most wouldn't be suitable anyway. A lot of it is about post Endgame pallet cleansing and setting up new characters. Not a lot of opportunities for AoS characters to show up, at least not to an extent that it would actually be worth it.

Monica is also an adult, former Air Force pilot, and agent of SWORD. Kamala is a high school student. Just sayin'.

I finally watched the second episode and I really enjoyed it.
As someone with no real experience with Islamic culture, I found those elements of this episode really interesting.
The stuff setting up Kamala's family history and the origins of the bangel were interesting.
I'm very curious to see what's going on Kamran and his mother. I'm assuming she's connected to the bangel somehow.

I agree. Bennet should really be in the MCU proper. With Black Bolts recent appearance, I'm hoping that enough years have passed since that horrible series we can see Inhumans again.

    That was my theory.

I am really enjoying the focus on Islam in the U.S. and how the characters are portrayed. I also enjoyed the girls criticizing the treatment of women in the mosque. It reminded me of an old Little Mosque on the Prairie episode.

I loved this episode. The bollywood dance during the wedding reception was so much fun to watch. And the fight scene set to "Livin' on a Prayer" was also a lot of fun to watch. We also have a much better idea of the story and the villain now. It was also great to get more backstory and lore behind the bengal.

Sooo... the bangle was excavated from a 10 Rings ruin and was found on a blue severed hand... It's basically a Kree artifact?
