Ah ... I'm not watching the episode trailers (till after I've seen the episode at least once) in an attempt to avoid overt spoilers.
    No biggie.

I'm sure he'll be a loveable rogue with a certain charm. After all, this is Star Trek.

I’m not the biggest fan of retconning the Enterprise as the flagship at this time. To me it was just one of the 12 Connies. It’s the actions of Kirk that made future Enterprise’s the flagship later on.

LOL at Anson Mount/Pike's pirate voice. I was laughing my ass off.

    That was a fun episode.

    1. Pike was like a regular Mal Reynolds with that other crew. "What? You have to share a bunk? With that one?" Except here they used the chow as the selling point.

    2. Actually didn't see the double cross coming, courtesy of avoiding spoilers.

    3. T'Pring, in her Vulcan-ness, missed the heat of that kiss between Spock and Chapel. Or maybe she didn't, played it cool, but that is what sows the seeds of dissent. Knew that was Stonn the moment I saw him- don't even ask me how I knew.

    4. Once again, Number One's hard professionalism and coolness under fire ultimately saved the ship and kept it out of Angel's hands, at least temporarily. Spock almost blew it, inadvertently. Guess that's why she's the XO and he's a lieutenant. ;)

    5. Where the fuck was Hemmer?

    6. Pike introduces international 'talk like a pirate day' on the bridge. Fuckin' Wizard!

I think this series is now my number two behind TOS. They're keeping it fresh and TOS at the same time every week, and I honestly didn't think that would be possible. MOAR.

They mention "The Tropic of Cancer" and I think of that Seinfeld episode.
