Creation is an ongoing thing. It didn't stop in 1966 or 1969 or 1979...well you get the idea. So no, it's not "the problem". The only problem is when the material is sub-standard (individual results may vary) Be it Spock's Brain, The Final Frontier, Nemesis or what ever your particular hobby horse is. But even the worst is still canon.
I don't follow the shenanigans of Star Wars beyond the films and now TV shows. Canon is always expanding. Even the contradictions are part of it. Fitting perfectly is not a requirement. Things will be added and subtracted. It has always been this. The broad strokes will usually remain the same.
Exactly so. It's taking the world made and adding to it in a way that fans would not think of. This is no way is a bad thing.
