News Coronavirus Pandemic Information and Support Group

@Locutus of Bored , I'm so very sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Thank you for sharing her story with us. She sounds like a remarkable woman, and a loving grandmother. We should all be so blessed to have someone like her in our lives. And I'm truly sorry to hear about the Alzheimer's as well; it's such a devastating malady, both for those who suffer from it, and those who have to watch them suffer through it.

My heart goes out to you. Sending hugs and best wishes your way.

My wife had a cold which she generously shared with me. She tested negative three times and I tested negative once.

FYI, received my 2nd booster this morning. Operations have scaled back. Kaiser Permanente only has vaccination clinics at their hospitals instead of a few of their other offices. The one I went to was operating out a multipurpose room with about fourteen chairs. No longer requiring you to wait the fifteen minutes if you had no reaction to previous three shots.
I really got clobbered with vaccine side effects- chills, fever, headache, and massive backache. Starting to feel better except for the headache.

I prefer the vaccine side effects to the actual virus. I’m detesting Omicron, as I’m pretty sure that’s what I’ve gotten.
me too, and each of my three shots was more trouble than the actual infection afterwards

... and get better !! (btw, that's an order)

You’ve got it! I need to be okay for next Friday, the last day of class. The two shots only laid me flat for a day or so. The actual infection is dragging and the Paxlovid leaves an awful taste. I can’t taste much beyond this awful bitterness.

i was out of comission fo a week each shot but only half a day for the infection (it lasted 10 days, though)

Looks like we got the reverse of each other. I wisely got my booster on a Friday afternoon so if I had the same effects I did from the J & J, I wouldn't have to call in sick. The worst that happened with the second shot was a sore spot that didn't go away for a month.
This feels like a particularly bad bug that is keeping me down. I've been making myself eat, mostly to get rid of the nasty taste from the Paxlovid. It tastes like... earwax.

i think it's rather disturbing that you happen to know the taste of earwax
