I'm pretty sure Bashir has moments of reflecting on faked shortcomings when no one's around before the genetic engineering retcon.

I don't even know what to say.

My thoughts aren't going to be well-organized right now.

This was an absolute train wreck. I'm utterly shocked and even a little insulted at how awful this season truly turned out to be.

I still don't even know what the meaning of the flashbacks to Picard's childhood ultimately meant. It's not clear to me how that story and time traveling had anything to do with one another.

In the end, what was this even all for? All ten episodes felt like one gigantic waste of time.

Generally, it's only been the writing that has been terrible this season, but we get a new wrinkle in this final episode: what happened to the effects team working Queen Jurati's finally-revealed face towards the end?? That looked laughably awful!

You some how attached my name to a quote that wasn't from me.

The Eugenics wars were from 1992 to 1996 and Khan left earth in 1996.

It was probably just a project of his named after Khan. Maybe his own project to create his own Supermen.

My original thoughts exactly…too bad SNW just moved the eugenic wars to the 21st century!
    I guess this could work.

Not yet. Maybe there was more than one. There is an 'S' at the end of Wars there.

    Wesley Crusher. Brilliant.

loved Q. But I am so disappointed Picards love of his life wasn’t Beverley. Can’t wait for S3. Elnor is best looking guy ever.

Elnor is so easy on my eyes, I don't even have to open them when he's on screen. Seriously, it should be criminal to look that damn good.

Wesley came off rather creepy I thought. I wouldn’t have gone with him. I would have got the authorities. :)

I thought they managed to stick the landing pretty well. I’m not sure the season was wholly satisfying, but I found my appreciation for season 1 was much higher after binging it just before season 2. I’ll probably do the same with this one just before season 3 lands.

The whole Soong plot felt kind of redundant, but equally there wasn’t enough time spent with Renee Picard, who was supposedly the most important person. But we hardly knew her.

Sad to see Rios go, but I could buy that he’d stay there with Teresa. Similarly Agnes got a great arc and a send-off. I think we all called it weeks ago, but that’s fine. Apparently the Flux found its way from the Doctor Who universe, but fortunately the Jurati-Borg were better able to handle it than the Daleks.

The most important scene with Picard and Q was well-written and beautifully performed, and did give the story some meaning. I thought Orla Brady was great in both her roles this season and has great chemistry with Stewart.

I’m still bummed that they fridged Elnor and apparently he isn’t in season 3. Felt like a waste of a character. Maybe there’s always Starfleet Academy…

The Wesley cameo was just glorious!

So yeah, a bit of a mixed bag but I’m looking forward to season 3.

I don't understand why you're focusing on all the nonsensical plot points leading up to the touching & sentimental final moments between Picard and Q. It's the final episode - they stuck the landing and that's all that matters, not the preceding episodes. How we meandered to this point or whether it makes any sense is irrelevant.

The magic of this season of Picard is it was never about plot, or logic, or coherence. This was about Q giving Picard a final gift before he died ... died of, you know. Hold on - why was he dying again? Ah see - I did too, trying to make sense of it. I might go, where's the rest of The Q? His wife and son? Does this contradict Voyager's Death Wish which addressed the Q's state of permanence an inability to die. No no ... these are questions of a fool trying to make sense of something transcendent.

Just let the sublime experience wash over you. Don't think about it - that isn't the writers' intent.

The Project Khan folder was clearly meant to established the Soong family interest in genetics and pass the torch to the Next Generation, or in this case, Enterprise. ;) The file name is rather too specific to actually have anything to do with Khan Noonien Singh or the Eugenics Wars. It's obviously named after Khan Noonien Singh.

It's basically this series' version of this scene:
