So if Tallinn works for Wesley and Tallinn hates Guinan (I'm resisting putting my boot to your face), I assume Wesley has some kind of feud with Guinan we haven't heard about? Still mad about some fight in Ten Forward he had as a human?

Wow, you really do go out of your way to find chit to complain about, don't you.

I'm giving this a 10. They really pulled it together in the finale.

Between DSC and PIC, this is my favorite season finale out of all of them. So, yeah. This season is interesting to work out as a whole. The average comes out to an 8.4 compared to last season's 8.7. Not quite as good as the first season, but I still thought it was good overall. Could've been even better with tighter focus, but I like where everything ended up.

He did. One can chalk that up to Q adolescence and their version of hormones but yeah, some of them definitely understand and exploit sexuality.

It just occurred to me that as Rios had decades to be chatty with Guinan, Guinan could have known all along in TNG how Q and the Q Continuum would end...

Still don't like how there wasn't really any context for why Q was "moving on".

If that massive energy wave was Q/the Continuum leaving the universe for another place, why not have somebody like Guinan or "Wesley Crusher" allude to it?

I loved all the scenes with John de Lancie this season. It just feels in the end they were more cathartic than substantive.

I thought this episode adequately brought the season to a close, but I can't say I loved it, and I certainly didn't love the season overall. (Albeit it was a better finale than the first season, and also PIC: S2 was an overall improvement).

What I liked:
-The return of Wesley. Wasn't expecting that. I didn't like that he hadn't been mentioned as coming back for PIC: S3, so his cameo here was a welcome surprise. I wouldn't have minded if his character had been a bit more distant or godlike for lack of better term. But still it was cool seeing him and him being the one that ties up Kore's storyline, even if it's a little reminiscent of how Data's daughter also wound up touring the galaxy.
-Q & Guinan. Can't say I really liked what happened with Q, but I do feel that John de Lancie did much better in this episode than when I last saw him. It felt somewhat like Q again to me. I wasn't expecting Whoopi Goldberg back, so it was nice seeing her too. It was strange though that she would remember the past if Picard and crew had changed time.
-I liked Captain Seven. Though if there is a spin off, I hope she goes by Captain Hansen. I liked a lot of the scenes aboard Stargazer, though I wish that they had had a meeting between Jurati and Borg Queen-Jurati. I did feel the solution was rushed and it would've been nicer to have the season's final two episodes to deal with this new galactic threat (I was hoping it might be the alien machines (Chabon's "Alterity") from S1 to give them more screen time/explanation).
-I was glad that Seven and Raffi's relationship progressed-finally, and it's good that Elnor was resurrected as well. The makings of a Picard spinoff on Stargazer with Captain Annika Hansen is right there.
-Like many I had assumed Rios would stay behind. The only quibble I had here was that he only talked about his lonely existence on La Sirena without mentioning he also was captain of the Stargazer and had hundreds of people depending on him.

What I didn't like:
-Adam Soong. The character was too one-dimensional, of the Snidely Whiplash variety. Also I felt the "Project Khan" tease (or is it canon threat?) was too on the nose. If I recall, I think Trek Lit. called it "Project Chrysalis". I would've gone with a deeper cut like that. Something I didn't mention last week but had struck me as strange was why did the Borg mercenaries still work for Soong after the Borg Queen left?
-The stuff with Renee and Talinn was a bit predictable and I could've done without, though it did give proper closure to both characters.
-Not a fan of Picard hugging Q. As much as I like these two actors and their characters, it just didn't work for me. I can get why it worked for their characters and for other fans, but not for me. It was hard for me to grasp why Q cared that much about Picard to put him through this. Further, it seems to me that Picard, or rather the creators, flubbed the grand opportunity of being reborn in a synthetic body as a chance to let go of his past without having to revisit Picard's childhood.

The Q Continuum didn't end, just Q.

And even that's up in the air because it all could have been the finale of the Q's test of humanity.

Picard: Hi Wesley, it's your old captain Jean-Luc. Hope you're still not mad about that business on the Native American planet what with you being a Traveler now and all. Anyway I'd like to file an interdimensional restraining order against Q. Yes, that Q. What do you mean just wait until he dies? How do I know a past version of him won't bother me in my future?

The Q Continuum didn't end, just Q.

Q's talk of dying alone strongly implies the other Q are dead, albeit it may not outright have been said.

(spoiler for Discovery)
Strangely enough Vance seems to think they're around in the 32nd century. However, as Q operate on a different time scale to people (maybe this is the past of the Q continuum that Vance is talking about), it may be irrelevant

But they are not above dicking with the humans they find interesting.

Like removing a person's clothing or giving a certain Klingon a 'Love slave'.

Q literally appeared naked on the bridge of the Enterprise-D, floating right in front of Jean-Luc's face and then fell to the floor and went "red alert...." while looking up at Jean-Luc and almost licking his lips. I mean... :shifty:;)

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I think, considering all of the death and tragedy we've seen just in the past couple of years, we could use a little more catharsis.

Maybe that lifeform is in part why Earth recovered so quickly from a nuclear war?

I want to say the Vulcans did it but I'm pretty sure that came from a non-canon source. Would earth have been devastated for as long as it was if we had that lifeform? Also Cochrans' age in First Contact was explained as looking older due to radiation.

The El-Aurians seem way too feeble to mount any sort of resistance to the Q, much less wage an equal war with them.

The Travelers however--that I can believe can stand toe to toe with the Q. Maybe Wesley and the Travelers are responsible for killing the Q, using some sort of interdimensional starvation or something.

Cochrane's age was only explained as such in licensed but non-canon works like Star Trek Encyclopedia I think. From the canon itself we just have to assume he looks like a very old 30 something.
