TNG and DS9's were usually around 45 minutes.

Voyager's are 45-46 minutes until the last two seasons when they are 42-43.

Enterprise was 42-44 minutes.

Contrast this all with TOS, which went 50-51 minutes per episode.

Poor downgraded Voyager.

I really hope there is a satisfying ending tonight. I think if they are still in LA and the season ends, I might be tempted to give this episode a 1. It's been such a struggle (Through no fault of the actors, I think Pill has done an amazing job this season and she is the MVP) but maybe the ending might give some hope to Season 3.

They said that thanks to COVID delays, they had time to really get the story right, so I hope they did. At the moment it seems like they have a lot to wrap up quickly.

From the 2000s onwards, 40-42 minutes or less has pretty much been the norm on network shows.
Up until the mid-'70's most hour long shows had about 9-10 minutes of commercials.
That increased to 10-14 minutes by the late '80's and then up to 15 minutes in the '90's.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they wrap up the story arcs for all the characters. And what happens with Renee Picard and the Europa mission and Picard and crew getting back to their own time . Also stopping Adam Soong.

And...

Rios girl the doctor lady

Q

The borg queen going to the delta quadrant

The future borg queen with the mask

The confederation?

The showrunner has already said Season 3 is a separate story from Season 2, so it won't end in a Cliffhanger. Unless it's one that is solved almost immediately in Season 3 episode 1.

Not necessarily a cliffhanger, but I won’t be surprised if the final scene (hopefully they don’t jump on the post-credit scene bandwagon) might set up S3 in some way, perhaps even with a cameo from one of the returning TNG characters.

Could happen, but I think they need to resolve the events from stargazer in the finale. That may only be a few minutes but it should mean they’ll get out of the past.

Nobody guards the spacesuits, nobody knows the Europa crew doesn't include Tallinn? XD

It's full of surprises...
