Spoilers What the 32nd century Should look like.

I also posited that the Voth may have travelled to the DQ at sublight throughout untold generations and using relativity.
They could have spent hundreds of thousands of years in transit with passage of time slower inside the ships, but faster on the outside (occasionally stopping in some systems to resupply, etc.), and might not have settled in the DQ until a few thousand years ago (before encountering VOY for the first time). And their Doctrine can easily explain why they had such long periods of non-advancement. The TW development was accidental and then even more time passed before they incorporated it.

UFP has little to no such cultural hangups and is comprised of over 150 different member planets that have how many alien species part of it contributing to technological and scientific advancement?
The technological and social foundation alone from which the UFP started and is working vs the Voth is incomparable. The UFP would have technically reached (if not surpassed) the Voth's level by the time VOY encountered them.

I hope this question is taken as intended - genuine and with intruige.

Obviously you have very strong feelings on where technological advancement should be at various periods within Trek, and also note certain technologies that should be in place.

To me it feels very definitive, considering it is based on extrapolations of fictional technologies and unknown events in universe.

So my question to you (and I will hope you forgive me for asking you do this in the simplest possible terms and assuming little to no prior knowledge) is what you base your assessments on? Does it come from the litverse? Are there technologies under development now and real world projected technologies that are guiding your opinions? What are your overall parameters for building your tech timeline?

I hope this makes sense

Been seeing a lot if taking in various threads about the general disposition of the 32nd century, and how it has been a somewhat if a let down.
Some examples:
Technology isn't as far advanced as it could be, I.e. still using photon / quantum torpedoes.
Still using regular warp drive.
Etc.
Basically, to me if you said it was set in the 26th century, I'd believe it.

So your thoughts? Not to just ships, but society at large as well.

I agree. Maybe 100 to 200 years from tng or Picard. But 750 years. No. Also I thought it was hilarious that Burnham was like watch what our 900 year old technology can do. It's like no one had figured out anything as equal or better than the spore drive in 900 years. It's laughable and really bad writing. I'm still struggling to find a equivalent 12 century technology that would truly impress me and seem far superior to what we have in the. 22st century. Lol

But Star Trek technology has been static from 2151 to 2401. It's just how the Trek world is. So many of Trek's amazing 300-years-in-the-future technologies like touchscreen panels and computer tablets are mundane today.

Necessity is The Mother of Invention. If society thinks it has what it needs, invention slows down.

We're just 22 years removed from the 20th Century, which saw more change than any previous century before and likely any century after. The amount of progress made from 1901 to 2000 isn't normal. It was the exception.

The technology I have now in my home is just a better version of what already existed at the end of the 20th Century. A better computer, a better TV, better A/V equipment (I'm a videographer and editor), a better phone, a newer car. But something totally 100% indigenous to the 21st Century? I don't have anything like that; that I'm aware of.

Star Trek is the same way. Once you have warp drive, and you can go from planet-to-planet, you have transporters, you have replicators, and you've got the holodeck (the last major innovation in Trek before DSC), what more do they need? From that point on, it's just improving what's already there.

DSC, in the 32nd Century, added Programmable Matter. The Spore Drive -- which was abandoned, classified, and repressed -- is something that's being picked up again because Warp Drive is scarcer Post-Burn. Necessity has encouraged the development and deployment of the Spore Drive.

What did we miss from the time after Picard to The Burn? Nothing. Just faster and better. And a stupid Time War that not even the writers from the Berman Era or the Kurtzman Era wanted to touch.

No one wants to touch it because they can’t do it justice.

Known factions of the Temporal Wars: Suliban, Tandarans, Tholians, Klingon Empire, 29th century Federation, Xindi, Na’kuhl, & Sphere Builders. Smaller factions in the Triannon, and Rajiin’s species.

Then you have those species and individuals where their perceptions of time would also make them participants: Krenim, Borg, Q Continuum, El-Aurians, the Prophets, Flint, Apollo, Gary Seven.

Can probably add the Ferengi (due to the events of “Little Green Men”), Romulans (due to ST’09), Trill (due to multiple lifetimes through symbionts), Empress Georgiou (due to Terra Firma), and Admiral Janeway (due to a history of temporal incursions) to the list

Plus, there’s no point in going back to it unless they being back Archer & Daniels at minimum from ENT. Maybe Silik too, even though he’s dead.

This seems more like a P+ series or multiple Long Treks on P+ than something that DIS should get involved in.
