I think that one would be a hard sell for Rios. He definitely still cares about her and worries for her, but he also definitely is not in love with her. He was not into that kiss. His interest and enthusiasm is all about Theresa right now.
While Theresa is cute, not going to lie, she's totally fine. But she's a 21st century Single Mom.

Cristobal Rios is a 24th century StarShip captain.

And Rios is more interesting in the Organic-ness of the 21st century at the moment.

It'd be even more awkward if Rios finds out Theresa is one of his ancestors.

And honestly, Rios and Jurati are much more fun as bickering exes than they were as tentative lovers.
I liked them as a couple, I wanted to see more depth put into that couple-ness.

But that's me.

I mean, I agree. There'd be no future in pursuing anything with her, and I honestly doubt he'll try (although the heartbreak in falling for her and then having to say goodbye makes for fairly standard TV drama, right?). Just saying, that's where his interest lies right now, while he doesn't seem interested in revisiting the relationship with Agnes - she has some fairly major issues that clearly came between them and neither one is in the right place to come together again just now. What the future holds...well, time and potential spin-offs will tell, I guess.

(I really want a spin-off for these characters. I want to see them just hanging out having adventures, proper on-screen bonding, old school. They would all benefit so much from that.)

Anyone else annoyed that the Borg Queen's hands aren't covered by her borg suit like they were in First Contact and Voyager? Looks weird.

Good episode. Frakes always delivers.

So despite being a different actress, Picard recognizes Ito Aghayere's Guinan as identical looking to TNG Guinan, the way we assume Peck's Spock looks like Nimoy's Spock, Spock Prime recognizes Chris Pine as looking like Shatner's Kirk, and all the other recastings not being noticed in-universe.

Picard pointedly recognizes Adam Soong as looking like Altan Soong, who is also recognized to look like Noonien and thus Data. Ok.

Are we supposed to assume that Arik Soong from Enterprise, despite not encountering any character who recognizes him as looking like Adam or anyone else, also supposed, in-universe, to look identical to Adam, Altan, Noonien, etc.?

This was the worse than all 5 proceeding and that’s tuff to do. Lazy writing trope with the flash forward stuff. That was Q’s big plan hit picard with a card. And I like how the producers of this stuff just forget their own plot when inconvenient, Picard is an android now a synth. It’s like watching some writers stream of consciousness. I know it’s filming now but I plede the other TNG vets, save face and walk away now

We need an Odd Couple style spinoff with Jurati and the Queen. Jurati wants to stay in, relax, and read the latest holo-novel, the Queen wants to go out and assimilate Earth. Hijinks ensue.
It was already done Ballard and six go watch BSG that’s where the producers lifted it from

Now that I think about it, the Borg Queen has been monitoring Earth's communications since they landed. Maybe she got hooked on a classic rock station... She keeps calling in using different voices requesting "Running With The Shadows Of The Night".

DJ - "Oh my!! Yet, another request for Pat Benatar!! How many does this make this week? It must be a Tiktok challange or something!!"

No, hitting Renee with a car was Soong's plan, for if all else failed, because Q tasked him with keeping Renee off the space flight (for reasons we don't yet know) and he was desperate enough to agree because he needs Q to save his daughter. Picard was hit because he pushed Renee out of the way, and he was injured because the new style of synthetic body is flesh and blood, enough to pass as fully human, as was clearly established last season. If the writers had forgotten that he has a synthetic body now, they wouldn't have referenced it right there in the episode.

The flashback/flash forward format was a perfectly valid stylistic choice to do something a bit creative, a bit different. If they'd done it in TNG you would be praising it to high heaven.

You might enjoy the story more if you made a bit more effort to follow what's going on. Your complaints would certainly come across as more valid if you actually made some effort to get your facts straight. ;)

If only enjoy this pablum if I cut off my air supply for about 3 minutes. How anyone can stand up for this complete and utter nonsense, I know most have been dumbed down but cmon this stuff is terrible

Well put!

If you WANT to hate something, you're gonna find things to hate...
If you WANT to love something, you're gonna find things to love...

That's how perception works. That's what subjectivity is.

I'm just glad I belong to the latter group. Life would be no fun to belong to the first one.

Q's plan was for Picard to understand how immobilizing and how deep depression can run, so that he can understand how much he hurt Laris and needs to make up for it, marry her, have a baby and continue on the Picard lineage.

Because the world isn't a hive mind?
God don't be do rude. Just because someone like something you don't doesn't meant they're stupid.

And I like how the producers of this stuff just forget their own plot when inconvenient, Picard is an android now a synth.
And I like how you completely forgot Season 1 explained that the Golem is basically flesh and blood.

The Producers didn't forget their own plot, you forgot it.

Statistically speaking, it's not that unlikely. The average person has about a million ancestors 400 years ago.

Good thing they didn't go back any further, because once you get to say 600 years back, basically every single human being who had children would be one of your ancestors.

I don't know. I ship Rios and Theresa. Too bad it won't go anywhere. Unless he finds out her and her kid die in WW3 and he brings them back to the future. And then, unlike Kirk and Gillian, they stay together.

I wonder if there'll be some cool effects shot to symbolize when Jurati's mind absorbs and/or deletes the Borg Queen? We all know Jurati won't lose the mental battle in the end.

So how many genetically engineered clones in total has Soong lost? Did the episode actually give a number and I missed it?

I wonder how the 30 day conflict and the President stalling the treaty talks lead to WW3? They were links on the webpage Kore is reading.

Frankly I'm astonished they didn't go back to the "Tapestry" teaser where Q meets Picard and adds, "Jean-Luc, welcome back to the afterlife. You're dead. For real this time, I'm afraid. I'm done giving you second and third and fourth chances. You've squandered them all trying to make a difference in the galaxy from your perspective of pain and loneliness. Hardly a suitable foundation for anything. Don't you remember me telling you you're not that important?"

Soong should have collaborated with Benjamin Lockwood and John Hammond. His experiments might have gone better. Somewhere there's a mass grave with all his failures. You'd think the press would have twigged this.

Another wonderful speech from Jean-Luc. Channeling his inner counsellor. Frakes probably told Patrick, "How would Deanna approach Renee?";)

Serious plot holes in this story, many previously mentioned, but the character moments work.

Alison Pill should do a cover album of Pat Benatar's songs. I'd buy it.
