Hey you found one. That's an excellent refutation of my assertion. It's still an outlier, the fact that 29th Century Starfleet has to merge people shows that fading away doesn't usually happen.

Year of Hell.

Once they got rid of Annorax's temporal shielding, the weapon destroyed itself generating a new past were it never existed.

‪‪I don’t think he was apologizing, and ‪‪the portion ‪‪I quoted just shows Guinan responding to Picard’s name.

As others have pointed out, it doesn’t mean she knew him, or remembered him, she could be responding because she knows the Watcher is assigned to protect Renée Picard.

You know, both Time and Again and Year of Hell feature giant explosions interacting with time travel phenomena. That results in everything, not just the time travelers, being reset, (in Time and Again everyone disappears before it goes white, not just Paris and Janeway).

Now I'm thinking these sorts of results are distinct from regular time travelers changing their native futures, and not getting erased.

Or his name could have flared up the time sickness.

Guinan didn't look sick when Picard gave his name.

She certainly recognized the name, but didn't display the sickness she showed earlier.

WARNING WARNING WARNING
EXTREMELY PEDANTIC SENTENCE APPROACHING

Doesn't mean she didn't, either. :D

The 29th century folks have basically been doing what the Loki people were doing the whole time, favoring a specific timeline outcome.

It almost seemed like Q was having second thoughts and tried to undo his plans there.

Anyone think young Guinan’s casting was too muscular and aggressive to be Guinan? She wasn’t that bitter 25 years after slavery, but she is now? Her personality just seems too abrasive even for a righteously frustrated Guinan.

Non-serious prediction: Bus Punk is the Head Watcher or a Q. That's why he's always coming in contact with our heroes, he can remember events across multiple timelines and can even visit different universes, like the MCU when he dropped in to check on Spider-Man.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

Just found it a bizarre complaint.
As a complaint, it is, because of course Guinan can fluctuate in weight and ripped-ness over the course of 150 years. Hell, Guinan said she can adjust her aging to suit the time period and lifespan of the people she's hiding among, which suggests an immense amount of control over her physiology and appearance.

I just though it was a perfect opportunity to show a picture of Ito Aghayere's buff arms.;)

Funny enough, all of this can be explained away by her job.
A. Guinan works customer service in a bar. I am only somewhat joking when I say that doing customer for any length of time is enough to kill one's belief in humanity. (Partial) joking aside, I can see Guinan living through "worse" periods of her life on Earth and eventually just having enough of the crap even during an objectively "better" period of time. Some days, really bad things happen and you can contain it; other days, something minor can cause you to lose your s**t.

B. As someone who has worked in bars/restaurants, one does get strong when hauling around those large plastic dishwasher bins full of heavy glass barware. I can easily see Guinan having guns under all of those robes... I can also see this fading a bit with the advent of replicators which remove the need to carry racks full of glassware around.

In fact, while it may not have been their intent at the time, one could read Q's comment when first seeing her on TNG that Guinan isn't what she appears to be as referring to the ability to alter her appearance we see here in Picard.
