But again, that's the facility that Obama built to hold illegal aliens sneaking in, so....
What difference does it make who built it, it's disgusting that we as a country do it. Obama, Trump, and Biden are all equally wrong for allowing it to happen.
Isn't this comparison a bit too much?
Jeffery Dahmer was nice to his neighbors too, he still killed and ate people. Humans are complex, but it doesn't matter what random act of kindness you do if you're an active participate in the abuse of other humans.

In my observation, pluralism in particular seems to be absent in the big P variety.
Wow, from a factual standpoint, you're massively misinformed.

I don't care what political persuasion you are, but clearly you don't understand the concept. (Nor the principles underpinning Star Trek).

From the Encyclopedia Britannica for your edification:

Pluralism assumes that diversity is beneficial to society and that autonomy should be enjoyed by disparate functional or cultural groups within a society, including religious groups, trade unions, professional organizations, and ethnic minorities.

Sheep believe what the shepherd tells them. Do you think with video cameras EVERYWHERE that ICE agents beat people?

As for "separating" children from "parents", you are aware that a good percentage of the "parents" are NOT the kids parents. They buy them from the real parents so they can try to sneak in as families.

The only time a real agent would even be close to the Picard version, is if the illegal entrant is causing trouble (violent, inciting, et al). And that's just until they regain control.

But again, that's the facility that Obama built to hold illegal aliens sneaking in, so....

I'm SERIOUSLY about to lose my mind hearing "What about Time's Arrow?!" when its been CLEARLY STATED THAT THIS TIMELINE IS A DIFFERENT TIMELINE FROM THE ORIGINAL! I don't know how much clearer that can be, and I'm TRYING to give the benefit of the doubt to my fellow Trekkies and your genius, but come ON! We've seen many an episodes dealing with alternate and even changed realities if not from this series, then from others. Data never went back in time in this Q-altered timeline, so there never WAS a meeting between Guinan and Picard in the 19th century. There won't BE a severed android head below SF in this 2024 OR 2400, there won't BE any of that because its obvious Q erased all that once he changed everything. Is this clear enough? Does this REALLY need to be further debated, or can we move on now? Because its really astonishing to me how little people seem to focus and listen in on the story these days to the point where I and others who HAVE been paying attention have to come and explain it. Please do better my fellow Trekkies....

? The "original" timeline had Eugenics wars in the 1990s. They also had circuitry in the Enterprise that was ridiculous by 1960s standards let alone 100s of years in the future. This episode relatively accurately depicted today. We live in a shithole nation created by assholes. The whole point so far has been that something 3 days from this episode changes the future, not that this episode is in a different timeline, this episode is before that different timeline manifests.

Obviously it is all illogical bullshit because time travel is insane and non causal, and thus impossible in a logical universe. There is no Data's head, I suppose, but there was no Data's head in the timeline that first lead to Data existing because the head cannot have exited without Data and San Francisco existed in the past prior to Data. FFS Time Travel in Trek has no rules because it has happened so many times and in several, the rules are different. Sometimes it changes the present, other times it spawns a whole new universe with a new Kirk. It is just nonsense to try to make sense of it.

Well..
If something happened like it was in episode..
Agent X stunning Rios for no apparent reason except for giggles.. What would happen?
1. Cameras everywhere.
2. Most law enforcement officers are good people, so a supervisor would have noticed, or the guard/guards would have noticed, went in and cuffed Agent X and threw him in a cell and booked for assault and battery.
That level of mustache twirling villian wouldn't fly.

Confederation Spock stopped the whale probe by going back to 1984,
Right because the Confederation cares about whales and would solve the problem by doing the right thing.

Or maybe they'd just tell the probe to F off and use their massive firepower and destroy the probe and forgo the hassle of going back in time to find a frigging whale?

This. In the episode, they say Rios is being sent to a Sanctuary District along the border, and maybe by 2024 that's what they'll be called, but right now they're immigration camps, or concentration camps if one such as myself prefers, and they are Sanctuary Districts in every way except the 1990s direct allegory of concrete walls.
They are no way like a "concentration camp" and you insult the (Jewish) Holocaust survivors whose families WERE in real concentration camps.

Yep, it's very real, and what they depicted in this episode, and last episode, are things ICE does on a routine basis.

No they don't. That's your misinformed information. PROVE it if it is so common, as you say.

Wow, from a factual standpoint, you're massively misinformed.
Am I?
i like the definition cited by wikipedia:

Pluralism as a political philosophy is the recognition and affirmation of diversity within a political body, which is seen to permit the peaceful coexistence of different interests, convictions, and lifestyles.

Big P progressives seem to get particularly incensed at people that don't share their views, even when those people attempt to debate matters in a respectful way.

Some closeups of Q's newspaper from TrekCore. Either the prop department wasn't informed of when the season took place, Q was reading an old newspaper, or the scene took place further in the past.
