Most franchises have lazy clichés. Entertainment is partially built on them. As long as the lazy cliché is written well enough and entertains me I'm not looking for an Original Writing Award to be handed out.

More and more lately as IP becomes the guiding light for studios. Or, if not 13 itself, getting pretty high in the numbers in a way that would have been completely unexpected 30 years ago.

They're not. All Trek films have clichés. Even TMP is the Trek cliché of a human device that gains sentience and now threatens to destroy humanity because it's gone haywire and has new programming. The very first film in the franchise was essentially a TOS episode.

That's like counting every single Disney film (IE - every film with the exception of the main Spider-Man films are exclusively a "Marvel Studios" film.)

But yeah technically The Avengers have gotten 4 MCU films.
‐‐----------------
TOS characters have gotten 9 films.
TNG characters 4 films.

To be fair she says "We're" excited so probably more than one.

John Cho needs the work now Cowboy Bebop's dead. Quinto doesn't seem to have much on either.

Getting Simon Pegg might be tricky given that shooting on MI7/8 looks like it's never going to end, though.

This popped up on my FB stream with the title "We're Back" ...

I have no idea if this is a new or old pic.
But since we don't see Yelchin, I'm assuming new.
