Spoilers The Expanse Season 6

Love how even minor characters have little arcs, for all that Michio has been portrayed as someone who can't hack stressful situations, yet who steps up in a moment of crisis and takes decisive action without hesitation? Love that.
Yes! I really loved that too.

Camina Drummer is one of the greatest TV characters of all time.

And she should be cast as a Romulan.

Prediction: We will have a spin off show called Ring Worlds.
I didn't know what to make of Drummer at first, but now I adore her! Cara Gee is awesome. :adore:

I dunno about your title, but I do hope we get a spinoff/continuation. I bought my hubby the first 6 books for Christmas and plan to read them myself. Abraham & Franck have created wonderful characters and a fully-realized world.

Her TV arc messed with a number of my favourite characters in the books but I haven't cared one bit. She is amazing any time her or Bobbi are on screen I light up.

Really happy that we got the Connacht (DeWalt) in some form and they didn't shy away from the Polyamory (Although sad the ship lost it's Irish name)

I think it's pretty much inevitable even with faithful adaptations of book series that you see the roles of several secondary characters combined into a single character.

Ya but usually it's disappointing but this time they have managed to make a better character from the ingredients rather than a watered down one

Finished episode 5. The planet stuff is just weird. I don’t know how they will finish that arc with only a few episodes remaining.
The alliance at the end was good but I wish they would just say they are all humans.
The Holden arc with the ring is still the most interesting part. Wish they focused more on that

I wonder if they're going to somehow be able to disappearing ships to their advantage against Marco. If they've figured out the threshold to trigger an attack (if "attack" is even the right word), and if they have information on traffic through ring-space, they should be able to predict when the next one will happen, and could somehow "encourage" Free Navy ships to transit then.

I wish shows wouldn't do the thing where they released the penultimate minute of an episode as a teaser in advance. It happened this week with Avasarala walking out to meet Drummer, though it's not as bad as when Doctor Who did it with a late season eight episode, which contained a knowing line that let me predict Missy's evil plan before the episode had even started (I have wondered if that was an intentional call-back to a horrifying idea mooted briefly in the Master's prior appearance). Anywho, it was annoying, since I knew that Drummer was eventually going to be won over, and it took the whole episode to have her arm twisted into deciding her pride wasn't worth more than stopping Marco.

Speaking of, it seems from his reaction that Filip did not, in fact, know Marco had planted the bombs on Ceres.

It's always hard to tell what's going through Amos's head, but I think I know which part of Bobbie's philosophy convinced him to stay with Holden. Speaking of not knowing what's going through someone's head, I really appreciated the show cutting without giving the slightest hint what Bobbie decided about his invitation. I enjoy a little mystery in life.

Not to be a broken record, but this week's "One Ship" was very much a "series finale" scene. I believe it's where that surprising season one cameo that pre-release publicity mentioned is, as well. Gotta say, didn't call it. But...
...it reminded me a lot of the last episode of nuBSG, and also Doctor Who's "Turn Left," in that we have a flashback to what's definitely the most consequential single moment in James Holden's life, and possibly in the entire history of the human race.

Terrific episode, as per usual. Cry Havoc and sound the Drumms of War.

One episode left for the series. I've got high hopes and I'm eager for next Thursday.

As much as the Drummer and Namoi scene was great and it led to the alliance, that scene between Bobby and Amos was probably my favorite scene of the season. Both characters are similar in a way, out there doing a job, being brash, and just watching that conversation and close ups of the two was really great.

I'm still concerned they are going to rush this ending (And I'm starting to feel like the stuff with Cara in the teasers will actually not go anywhere which is unfortunate) but I loved the character interactions in this episode. It was very classic Expanse.

As much as I have absolute faith that they'll pull it off, I can't help but feel uneasy that there's only one episode left to go. Unless they have a secret spin-off or set of straight to digital movies up their sleeves, I struggle to imagine they'll be able to get the show over the finish line without a mad scramble to tie up plots.

Indeed, that they've been weaving 'Strange Dogs' into every episode this season makes me think a continuation of the show is more likely than not. With only six episodes this season, every minute counts, so why spend so much time on a side story that . . . well I don't won't to spoil anything for the non-book readers but let's just say the Laconia story doesn't have anything directly to do with the immediate plot of this season and is more about foreshadowing what is to come. If all that mattered this season was tying up loose ends, they could easily have ditched it and missed nothing.

Awesome episode, so many good scenes, so sad it's ending.

Bobbie and Amos at the bar

good talk
loved that Amos "invitation" ended ambiguously too. (Still ship them though ;))

Bobbie and Avasarala
Just love how the straight talk to each other, finally some guards came down.

Avasarala and Drummer
= YEAH FINALLY!
the scene would have had much more of an impact without being used in the promo as stated
Avasarala's "here i am" arm folding out - what a grand entrance
good talk between them too.

"Drummers family"
so sad, but happy for them staying, Michio at his side recovering and doing good things

the Holden/Avasarala talk
was rather unspectacular, straight to the point, frank and direct though. Especially because it's about
the greater arc and books 7-9
Liked how she's called him out.

Marco Inaros
Inaros Senior kinda being manipulated by Rosenfeld Guiolang and not just about Filipp. Not sure he's so full of himself or sees trough it.
Filipp basically doing a 180 after finding out the truth about the dock bombings being an belter inside job is gonna be interesting for sure.

Strange Dogs
Wonder if it's that was the last we get to see from Laconia (for now or ever).

Drummers video call had enough energy to blow up a view screen and that look at the end where Avasarala realizes Fk I've just seen a young version of myself is priceless. The final scene had enough anger, sass and mutual respect it was bordering on sexual tension.

And you gotta love the Bobbi and Amos scene which is essentially the same problems but philosophically debated by what is essentially the Expanses lower decks

I loved how Avasarala described Drummer...

"We need her strength. We lost more ships than we could afford. Not long-ago Drummer was a fugitive with one ship. She came to Ceres with eight, studded with missiles and guns"

So unless the last episode is more than the usual 45 minutes or so, you would think the majority of the episode will be the final confrontation. (I have never read the books) Can't wait for it anyway.

It'd pretty much have to be. This past episode had very few "Part 1" tell-tales setting up a finale. It definitely feels like there's at least one more episode worth of stuff between this and the big climax, table-setting, characters making plans, people moving into place. You know, "Part 1" stuff. If you just told me there was only one episode left in the season and I didn't already know, I wouldn't believe you.

having not read the books, I'm at loss as to where Laconia fits in to all this?

Aside from supplying Marco with his stationary guns (presumably), I think the Laconia subplot is in a similar state to the Avasarala plot in season 1, or the Bobbi plot in season 4, in that it won't really tie into anything else until later. They do have to have a good degree of confidence in getting some sort of continuation to burn time on it, though.
