"Tensions rise as representatives from across the galaxy gather to confront the threat of the Dark Matter Anomaly. Zora’s new sentience raises difficult questions." - TrekMovie.com

Interesting choice of image.
Do you think Zora going to be the main focus of this episode?

I'm guessing that She will be the answer to the problem of the anomaly at this point as well.

No idea. I've found that the synopses and promo pics will sometimes leave something out, so a lot of episodes turn out to be a little different than expected. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what we'll get this week.

I need to think about this episode a little more (Initially I liked the Zora subplot, but thought Book was right 100%) but Paramount + really does need to insert trailers for their next episode at the end of the episode you are watching. They stopped doing that during Lower Decks and I had zero idea way. That was a great trailer for the back half of the season. I would have liked to get a new Prodigy trailer though.

‪‪I really enjoyed this one. With two plots, and both being mostly discussion, it could have floundered a lot more, but for me it was successful. ‪‪I can now totally appreciate what Olatunde Osunsanmi meant when he spoke at the end of the 92nd Street Y’s Conversation on Discovery a couple weeks ago and said that there were two sides that were totally opposed, but who both believed they were doing the right thing.

At first it seemed like it may be in reference to species 10-C and the people of our Galaxy, but now it seems clear he was referring to Book vs Burnham and the Federation & co. I’m still not convinced Tarka’s true motives have been revealed, and either way, I’m not sure he believes in what he’s doing the same way Book does, but he also clearly always thinks he’s in the right, so the comment from Olatunde Osunsanmi would still seem to apply.

I would have liked to get a new Prodigy trailer though.

‪‪I think there’s a chance we could get one at the end of this week’s Ready Room instead of a clip from the next episode of Disco.

So... Zora gave a bunch of numbers at the end. But did no one ask her which species she theorized was at these coordinates? Considering she was so afraid of who was at these coordinates, she must have some guess as to who's there. Why didn't anyone ask her?

Why were there no Klingons, Tholians, Breen, Gorn, Dominion, First Federation, T’zenkethi, Gri-Gari etc. at that meeting? They had bigger powers than those butterfly people.
So the United Earth has joined with Titan? What about Mars, and the belt? Is Mars still on fire? :)

So considering that Zora is now officially designated a sentient lifeform and what we the audience know about her trying to get it on with Craft via hologram in Calypso, Discovery crewmembers may feel extremely uncomfortable heading to the holodeck to deal with, uh, hormones now knowing that the sentient Zora could be embodying a character in the holodeck without their knowing and uh... enjoying it... :sigh:

That scientist wants to go to a universe with no Burn or DMA. That sounds like the actual Prime universe. I second that he goes there, and takes us with him. :)

He's going to head to the real world, our universe (which obviously diverged from Trek's sometime before the Eugenics Wars). I'm guessing he won't like it much.

Nothing in her interaction with Craft involved removing consent, or deceiving him in order to satisfy her own needs. Zora was open about who and what she was, and honest about the warp capability of the shuttle from the beginning, and even pushed him to return to his wife and child in the end.

And now she’s now a part of StarFleet, and bound by the same rules and code of conduct as any other member of the crew, any number of whom could similarly use their advanced technology and rank/positions of power to take advantage of others. There’s no indication that Zora is, or will become a predatory creep just because she’s a new life form that we know is capabale of showing affection to another.

For anyone that's seen it, do we see any new ships? Or are any ships identified by names?

‪‪I don’t believe that we see any new ships this week, but ‪‪I could be mistaken.
