I didn’t like it as much as last week’s episode. I’m glad that Dal wasn’t that big of a d—k this week. 7 is my score.
The animation really blows me away every week.

It was from TNG-ENT, 18 production years, 624/813 episodesI don’t like it either, but it’s not as if Trek ever was consistent with Warp effects.
This is why I think the USS ProtoStar came from the Kelvin-verse.It was from TNG-ENT, 18 production years, 624/813 episodes
That's because Berman era Trek had a more unified consistency. Different warp effects, transporter effects, increases or decreases in budgets, different effects houses, all of that makes for a bit of a mishmash of sfx. A different effect doesn't mean it's from another timeline, it just means they have a better budget and technology has improved in the intervening years. It was from TNG-ENT, 18 production years, 624/813 episodes
Exactly, so comparing warp effects on two franchise eras that are roughly 10 years apart, in which time CGI made a massive leap forward, isn't really fair to either of them.TOS Remastered didn't even have warp effects except for stars streaking by faster than they normally would.
So does this “protowarp” use Dilithium?
ent had a slightly different effect: the stars changed colors. It was from TNG-ENT, 18 production years, 624/813 episodes
not to mention that beyond had a slightly different effect than the two previous movies...DSC a different one that's more like a Kelvin Timeline warp effect
We could chalk-up the last three movies being different due to Scotty constantly fiddling with his beloved "Bairn's".ent had a slightly different effect: the stars changed colors.
also, the movies had different effects as well.

If not it's apparently tech that's been lost by the 31st century...
Or not sustainable. If not it's apparently tech that's been lost by the 31st century...
Was going to give it an 8, but it seems a 9 was lost in translation, so I made my finger slip to the right a bit.![]()
9. Would have been a 10 if it wasn't for the damn warp tunnel.. Again.. I dispise that effect.. Ever since ST09.. And love the NON use of it in lower decks... I miss warp star streaks.. It's not hyperspace..
Kinda like star wars hyperspace
I was thinking about that. She did it back at the prison with "cat boots" and "cahoots", but she speaks an insanely high number of languages, so I don't think it's a mistake. I think it's something Gwyn has chosen to do around Dal sometimes to appear more vulnerable/not as Super Smart and/or to make him laugh.Let's see... any cons? Not really. Writing was good, visuals very good, characterizations feel natural, story kept me interested. The only slightly cringe moment was the constipation/constellation line. It doesn't bother me in itself, I mean hell, who doesn't get that every so often? It's more that I would not expect Gwyn, someone so exceptionally capable and intelligent, to mix up astronomical terminology for gastronomical terminology.
