If a Different Series Did That Episode

Darmok ---- give it to DS9

Sisko: Oh boy! It's that damn aphasia virus again! (To Bashir) We need massive doses of the antidote, quick!

All Good Things -- Deep Space Nine

"
Captain, another ship is decloaking, bearing 215 mark 310... it's the Defiant!"

(Chopped, lowered, massive spoiler on the back and a Gatling-gun that would make the A-10 weep in envy, captained by a VERY irate Admiral O'Brien.)

maybe you could do a yesterday's enterprise with DS9-
jadiza dax could be the Tasha yar of the episode, and a nexus looking rift could be what overcomes the station to switch it into the alt universe. only the kai would realize the change.

TNG The Loss ---> DS9

Quark finds out that he can no longer scam people out of their money, he's lost his "lobes for business". The greatest scam opportunities pass him by and he simply doesn't see them. All his friends including Bashir tell him that he may have to get used to the idea that from now on he may be forced to try to earn an honest living. It's like he's trapped in his worst nightmare. Turns out he was exposed to some two-dimensional beings that were screwing him up. Boy, was he relieved!

i could see this being a parody fan production.

TNG Contagion --> Enterprise

Archer and crew watch in horror as the USS Atlantis explodes, victim of a seemingly uncontrolled cascade systems failure in the middle of a mission. Piecing together the situation as best they can, they nearly fall victim to the same fate -- an advanced polymorphic computer infection from a long dead civilization.

Mayweather saves the day when he inadvertently trips over a temporary power conductor (extension cord) causing the primary computer to reboot from protected memory, restoring all systems with zero trace of the virus.

DS9: "PROFIT AND LACE"
Give it to VOYAGER.

Change the Ferengi to any new Delta Quadrant species, and just have Janeway as herself convince a business leader that women can be equally good at making profit. This would have the benefit of simply being an episode about trying to equalize rights without having to go the humor route, and Janeway could really sell this to that world.

It's the rare DS9 episode that actually would be improved by being on a different show. (And I'm saying this as someone who puts DS9 as the best series in the franchise.)

Nice, I did one of these last year. I called it EPISODE SWAP and I gave DS9's "A Time to Stand" to Voyager.
EPISODE SWAP: Star Trek Voyager "A Time to Stand"
Alternate version at Deviantart
The funny thing about this was that in giving Chakotay the Kira role and Seven the Odo role it made me think that them being a couple in our universe actually could have worked.

I also wrote up versions of if DS9 and Voyager swapped storylines for their entire series, just focusing on their major plot beats, like in the DS9 episodes "Scorpion" the Dominion are at war with the Pah-Wraiths until Sisko has to forge a temporary alliance with the Dominion, or in DS9's "Freedom is Life" the Dominion rebels, including Laas recruit Odo to join their cause.

I also made a crappy poster for if "Generations" was a crossover between Enterprise and the 2009 film series, with Archer as Kirk, Kelvin-Kirk as Picard and in that film Archer, Reed and Hoshi are at the commissioning of the U.S.S. Daedalus, and Phlox's daughter is the helmsperson.

I was going to start "The Best of Both Worlds" as the TOS Season 3 finale, but I couldn't quite get it straight who everyone would be alternating in the story. I really, really liked the idea of trying to come up with what a 1960s version of the Borg would look like.

I also did Tron Legacy as a Star Wars sequel, which with Flynn as Luke, Sam as Ben and Quorra as Rey was pretty cool too.

OK, I'm feminist as frak, and obviously love the message of "Prophet and Lace," but story-wise? Was there anything at all to that episode besides the comical sex-change plotline? The moral of equality seems pretty obvious to anyone progressive enough to be watching "Star Trek," and to say it would be redundant for "Voyager" would be an understatement....unless the point of the episode was how those of us that already know better should handle a backwards, sexist society when confronted with it.

Either way, I still feel for this to be even remotely recognizable as "Prophet and Lace," someone still needs to dress in drag. (I nominate the pair of either Paris and the Doctor or Tuvok and Neelix going undercover in drag together, for maximum comedic effect. And/or Torres and Seven with fake facial hair.)

I am Truly Glad To See Someone Mention Star Trek Continues on these threads. that show felt really authentic to the original, and i loved the set.

Speaking of, I would send the Sulu and Chekov episodes of New Voyages, to Continues, for the obvious upgrade in filmography and acting. Not sure if any of the other episodes would warrant it, though. Maybe Mindsifter with Vic?

In that case, The Doctor is an easy choice because he can switch his appearance parameters, similar to what he did in "RENAISSANCE MAN".

That picture made me remember, I wonder how much I would like the reboot movies if someone fan-edited new special effects in that fix that damn ugly Enterprise, and replace it with either new FX for the original ship, the Discoprise, or even just start with the TMP refit.

I think you two are watching Star Trek wrong, if the design of thr ship makes any difference.

Just buy those technical manuals instead with the pretty ship pictures.

The Enterprise is something that you will immediately recognize. You don't have to be a STAR TREK fan to do so. I realize times will change and the look will reflect that. That's fine. But there are ways to do it that not only update the look to a current era but also respect the original look.

I feel that DISCOVERY actually did that very well. And I was REALLY nervous when I first heard about her appearance in the season 1 finale. I was quite amazed that they did a great job.

Abrams' ship did NOT respect the look. This is my opinion, but I know others like it as it was in those films. I'm fine with that. I simply hated that look, and was happy I wasn't the only one who felt that way.
