A fun episode, though very obviously constructed to be a retrospective, and to give Amy Louise Pemberton a chance to show off her singing voice (which is lovely). But it was appropriate to give Gideon a focus episode now that she's human, and to explore what that means to her.

I appreciate them letting Franz Drameh use his real accent. It doesn't make any sense, but that's fitting for LoT.

That would make sense, given the robot duplicates.

I laughed the most when I saw that they'd Colin Baker'd Dominic Purcell. (I guess he won't be coming back as a guest star after all.)

I'm guessing it's a lot easier to get up to Canada these days. I can't see Victor Gerber quarantining for two weeks for a day's shooting.

I believe Victor Garber is staring in a whole new series which is filming in Vancouver. Which probably helped. Though you are right quarantine times seem to be faster too.

I stopped watching the show regularly over a year ago. But I really enjoyed this. Revisiting Gideon’s memories, who has been there the whole time, really tied everything together well.

And it let them dust off the Waverider sets, which have gone unused for a couple of weeks.

Ugh. I was hoping we were done with Bishop. Hopefully the A.I. Gideon takes him out soon and is the big bad of the season. Bishop just annoys me.

I find the younger Bishop less annoying than his further-future self. He's less established/successful, less certain of himself, so his bombast and melodrama are more restrained.

    Cool! I didn't remember that.

So lovely to see so many people from the past! Seeing Victor sing was fantastic and I had NO idea Amy is such a good singer!

I'm not big on Bishop either, but at least this helped me see how he went from the almost-sweet guy he once was to the giant ass he becomes.

Hmm, I didn't know Olivia Swann was British. That's ironic, since Astra Logue was English in the comics and made American in the Constantine TV series and thus in the Arrowverse.

Also, it's a weird coincidence that every one of LoT's black cast members (except Ciara Renee, who's multiracial) has been a British or Australian actor faking an American accent -- Franz Drameh, Maisie Richardson-Sellers (as Amaya), Keiynan Lonsdale, and Olivia Swann. Although it's not only them, as Dominic Purcell is Australian.

That's a really odd tie-in, I don't really get it, I mean, like yeah ha ha it's Beebo but is anyone hyped to see this?

I'm not sure about "hyped", but I am curious.

Fun episode this week. It didn't go where I expected. When they established that Maude's group wore masks, I thought they were setting up a comedy-of-errors thing where Astra's trio and the rest of the Legends were in the same speakeasy without knowing it -- though now that I say that "out loud," I realize it wouldn't work both ways, since the trio would've recognized the others in the audience.

Also, when Zari's phone was kicked away, I thought they were setting up some kind of timeline-contamination thing with someone discovering microchip technology in the 1920s, or else something with Evil Robo-Hoover (although "Evil Hoover" is redundant) finding it and using it against the Legends. Anyway, it's hard to believe Zari would be so casual about misplacing her phone, given that she basically lives through it.

That's two episodes in a row that have given Amy Pemberton an excuse to sing. It's like they're making up for lost time with her.

This was a great episode! Again, I love the balance the writers are finding this season between the zany and the serious. I loved the crazy storylines we got in seasons 4, 5 and 6, but that can only go so far.

I like following both groups in separate storylines for now. Astra, Spooner, and Gideon have very good chemistry.

Zari 2.0 is much better this season too. They obviously toned down the annoying parts of her character by having the character mature from what she’s experienced, but I feel removing Constantine as a character, and her relationship with him, has also served to strengthen her character. Last season, her only function seemed to be swooning over Constantine or fighting with him and I much preferred the episodes with Zari 1.0. However, this season Zari 2.0 is much better and I was almost sorry to see her go for what I assume is an episode or two.

Gary also has gotten toned down this season quite a bit. In fact, they’re now using the retcon that he is an alien to good effect by growing his character, rather than just an out of nowhere twist that made him more weird (like last season).

This show has also done a good job of set design. They really made Vancouver, or somewhere nearby, look a lot like the 1920s. I wonder how long they’ll be stuck in this time? For half a season or the full thing?

I find it hard to believe they'll let the Waverider sets just gather dust for much longer. Although it's possible they could find some other way to keep the sets in use, e.g. by periodically cutting away to whatever bad guys (Bishop? Evil Gideon?) turn out to be behind the second Waverider that destroyed the first.

Still think Gary's scenes with Ava while Sara was missing etc before the wedding were some of the best the character has had.

Season 7 continues its excellent streak! I like the new Matt Ryan character. It was funny how everyone thought he looked like someone, but not Constantine. I laughed out loud when they accidentally killed Edison.

I wonder if the Nate and Zari storyline is being set up to give Nate an exit from the show. Nick Zano has been on since season 2 and I wouldn’t be surprised if he were the next one to leave.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that!

Great episode! I love that Matt Ryan gets to use his natural Welsh accent (swoon!) and that it's a very different character. Also, I had to laugh at the "how Davies is pronounced" - for decades, I'd pronounced it "da-vees", until I read Ray Davies' (of The Kinks) autobiography. :)

Sarah's obvious terror when Ava disappeared, and her relief at their reunion, were lovely. They might be the best couple on TV right now (after Clark and Lois).

Zari 1.0 saying it was ok but confusing if Nate got with Gary was adorable! I'm glad she was honest with him *and* that they didn't break up. I also love that Gary has been allowed to grow as a character while still being his goofy, enthusiastic self.

Killing the power was a great idea! The "lucky" rock was brilliant. Astra & Spooner are the new Dynamic Duo. Cannon Ball Baker's cameo had me running to Wikipedia.

My hubby said the time machine reminded him of the TARDIS. I called it the Time Gazebo. I did appreciate the design - copper pipes, giant fuse, etc. were very appropriate to the period. I'm super curious to find out what Gwyn Davies' "divine purpose" is.

Now we have robots of Hoover *and* Edison. Is this somehow the work of "bad" Gideon? It would be easy for her to think the Legends are the biggest threat to timeline integrity. And the Legends are... well, we have no idea. I love this show.
