Yeah this was a really good finale and possibly the best episode of the show. I liked that, while it was still funny, the humour never undercut the serious moments and it would work perfectly as a live action episode.

I don’t remember her in the Pakled one. Just the Borg one.
I do remember her in Total Recall though. :)
According to Mike, the reason he used her was because she was the original Lower Decks character.

Solid episode Gave it a 9.

The removing the outer hull solution was silly and i can't help but feel if another certain ST series had used it as a solution, it would have been absolutely derided.

They Horny Beluga's were the definite highlight and I could do with a whole episode dedicated to those guys.

All the Star Trek 6 references in the last two episodes have me wondering if the cabal or whoever is trying to cause unrest in the quadrant have some rogue starfleet officers in the mix. If that is the case, I think Freeman's arrest is a ruse either to recruit her for a top secret mission to uncover the traitors in Starfleet or as an attempt to try and draw them out by Starfleet security.

Two 10s in a row from me. Lower Decks is on fire! I can't wait until next wee...oh, right. :(

Yeah; she's gotten less annoying, but she's no Kirk. Of course, I don't think we're expected agree with her.

Well, interstellar. Unless they've bothered the Kelvins or species from Catspaw or some one.

    Still interstellar.

Uh, how? The problem was that having the hull plating would have amplified the effects of the radiation, thus causing the same problem that the USS Archimedes was suffering from. Removing the plating would lessen the effects of the radiation, thus allowing the USS Cerritos to coast through the debris field with enough power to save their sister-ship.

Does anyone even pay attention to the actual dialogue?

I know why they did it. Still felt it was dumb and contrived.

Man that was GREAT! I'm amazed it fit in such a short running time. And that cliffhanger! Seeing that To Be Continued took me right back to BoBW Pt 1.

-The Archimedes being based on the flying bathtub amused the hell out of me.
    -Cetacean Ops!
-I thought removing the hull plating was the kind of insanely brilliant (or brilliantly insane) idea Trek is great at.
-Consider me another vote for Tendi and Rutherford *not* to date. A friendship that fabulous deserves to exist on TV as-is.
-What is up with Rutherford's implant?!? Nicely done IMO since it seemed like NBD until this ep.
-i know some of you don't like Mariner, but I get her (more than I'd sometimes like to admit). It was great to see her and Jennifer get past some of their assumptions with each other.

Now... I have to wait HOW LONG for season 3? :wah:

By the way... this post was just for the halibut.

The removal of the hull plating was a GREAT idea.

We already knew from enterprise it could be done, but we never saw it done on a such extensive scale, also t he y established that the hull plating itsel has some kind of passive shielding which can’t be turned off (perhaps descended from the hull polarisation they used in enterprise?) which explains why Starfleet ships are so tough even when shields have failed.
