Yes, and some of that information is really interesting

Mecha and Character updates for Yamato 2205

    https://starblazers-yamato.net/2205/mechanic/index.html

    https://starblazers-yamato.net/2205/characters/index.html

They updated both sections. Now the characters have some information under each person and they have split them off into what they are doing.

Yamato, Asuka, and Hyuga are part of the 65th Escort Group which is suppose to make a voyage to Iscandar as part of a peace mission to show Earth's place in the brewing conflict between Gamilas and the Bolar over planet Gallmann.

    Yamato:
Captain Kodai, XO Shima, Chief Security Hoshina, Fighter Group Commander Yamamoto, Submariner Yabu (ex-crewman last seen serving on Gamilas sub UX-01), And new cadets: Damon, Nurse Kyozuka, Sakamoto, Bandou, and Tokogawa.
    Peace Mission:
General Serizawa, Ambassador Barrel, and Captain Yamanami
    Asuka:
Captain Yuki Mori, Science staff Kiryuu, Marine CO Nagakura, Marine Caroline Raiden
    Hyuga:
Captain Sanada, AU-19 (40 units on ship), Fighter Group Commander Shinohara
    Ginga:
    Captain Todo, XO Kanzaki
    Earth:
Earth Commander Todo, and the memory of Captain Okita (deceased)
    Gamilas:
President/Emperor Dessler, Fleet Commander Talan, Prime Minister Hyss, Hilda Scultz (civilian)
    Iscandar:
    Queen Starsha, Princess Yurisha
    Dark Nebula Empire:
    Fleet Commander Deader

The ships section is also updated with some details and specs:

    Earth ships:
    Battleship Yamato (3rd refit) - 333m long
Supply Carrier Asuka (has some cosmo reverse tech to support ships. Can fire wave motion barrier shells to defend other ships and locations) - 278m long
Combat Carrier Hyuga (fighter wing) -295m long
Type 5 Mobile Suit Armor - 2.09m tall
    Cosmo Python fighter-bomber (has a 57mm positron cannon) - 16.4m long

    Gamilas:
Deusula III (new battle carrier that has a wave motion barrier system) - 402m long
Guiperon (heavy combat refit) --- The Lambae. Has guns the size of Deusula III and a enlarged crew section. Carries torpedo bombers. 410m long

    Dark Nebula:
Great Plieadies (has anti-positron shielding and large side thrusters.) 410 meters long. Its bulk will make an Andromeda look small.

Cool info - thanks very much for the update!

So... Question for the armchair physicists out there... If a positron is also referred to as an antielectron (or anti-matter electron), doesn't calling something an "anti-positron"... turn it back into a simple standard-matter electron again? Or am I talking out of my ass on this one? Kind of confused...

Probably from a logical point of view. It is listed as something different from Earth and Gamilas armor and shield technologies designed to bounce weapons. It should not stop wave motion guns at that scale, but if Gorba uses the same tech, than it might bounce a wave motion gun.

Looking at those mech stats made me pull out my Perfect Manual Vol 2 for a comparison.
    Yamato - 265.8 meters.
    Andromeda class - 275 meters.
    Carrier - 242 meters.
No info on the Gamilas vessels. (Edit to add - Actually, I did find the size comparison chart for the Yamato and the Gamilas vessels, but the picture is so small I can't make out the lengths of the vessels. If I had to guess, I'd say Desslar's flagship is 324 meters, and the tri-deck carrier is 340 to 360 meters.)
    Dark Nebula - 360 meters.

It always cracks me up that in we had a Galaxy-class Yamato in TNG. In 2202 (and now 2205), we have a Yamato-class Galaxy…

Klingon Academy had a four engine Federation Battleship of the same name.

The Experimental Battleship Ginga (Galaxy) is almost certainly a nod towards Star Trek: The Next Generation. When Chapter One of Yamato 2202 came out, Time Eldred's tour group managed to catch the show's executive producer at a restaurant and had a talk with him. Since the battle in chapter one had a lot of American named ships in the Earth fleet and the Dreadnoughts and Andromedas had very British names, they asked if there would be a nod to the USS Enterprise, referencing the Galaxy-class starship of that name having a sister ship named Yamato. I guess they sort of liked the idea, and once they couldn't politically use Musashi as the on screen sister ship of Yamato, they used Galaxy for BBY-03.

    Still no Enterprise spotted.

Thanks for the added perspective. Appreciate that. Now all they need in 2205 is to finally have an Enterprise show up in the opening minutes, only to have it blow up due to a computer virus planted by Garmilas…:guffaw:

Well, it kind of was, when they inexplicably put an E-D-like saucer in the middle of Yamato's hull (along with riveting on a pair of Harlock-Arcadia wings):

That was an effort to make Great Yamato (Yamato 3199) less Yamato looking to evade copyright issues so that Masumoto could continue is big cross series manga epic with Galaxy Express 999 and Harlock (after he lost the rights to Yamato in the early 2000s). Dai-Yamato failed pretty hard, though the pachinko machine did well from what I recall.

You know I read the plot, saw some episodes on YouTube and I didn't understand ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it. At least with classic Yamato you can get the gist of what is going on even without subtitles or dubbing, but with Dai-Yamato there were just bizarre and random things happening on screen.

Heh... That's Matsumoto for you. I remember reading/hearing long ago that he heavily embraced the abstract and needed Nishizaki to keep the original story grounded. Once they parted ways, that safety valve disappeared and, yeah, he went out there...

There was also his "Ultimate Time Sweeper Mahoroba" project which also seemed to touch upon his multiverse motif, with yet another Yamato incarnation jumping between timelines.

Mahoroba was supposedly one of Yamato's later Super Yamato sister ships that got taken out of time at the end of World War II, (at least in one timeline as there was a Oyama on board) than I guess modernized at some point in the next millennium into a time travelling ship of some sort. I don't remember what the plot for that was going to be, but it seems like the ship was around to clean up non-warfare messed the the likes of Yamato couldn't handle. Like a time patrol ship I guess, under the watch of yet another willowy space goddess.

The first fifteen minutes of Chapter One are up on Bandai's YouTube site.
Non spoilers first impression - Desslar is out to reunite the scattered remains his empire and is coming into conflict with both the Dark Nebula and Bolar forces.

Is that Captain Harlock in the final bit of that 15 minute clip? (Sure looks like the character; and he was originally going to be part of the original SBY storyline before they got the original season cut back in episode count way back in 1972 ;))
