My headcanon until they give an explanation is that Janeway was the one who was originally supposed to do the negotiations before they pawned it onto Freeman without her knowing that it was considered beneath the Admiral.

Well, they may know who she is but they obviously have no idea what she looks like.
Actually, they have no idea.. period.![]()
Some of them did the the Enterprise and these ones still don't know the difference![]()
New head canon: what we’re watching are historical documents produced by the federation. They are somewhat realistic but differences in production choices explain why things look contradictory at times. My headcanon until they give an explanation is that Janeway was the one who was originally supposed to do the negotiations before they pawned it onto Freeman without her knowing that it was considered beneath the Admiral.
this. All Starfleet ships are "Enterprise". All female human commanding officers are "Janeway".
Maybe but they know her as Captain Janeway.
Surprised they all know about Armus. I would have thought he would be classified
I love this episode if nothing else for the TNGeezer fan rage the Armus thing is causing on youtube
Exsqueeze me? "TNGeezer" - why you young whippersnapper... TNG came out when I was in coll....never mind.I love this episode if nothing else for the TNGeezer fan rage the Armus thing is causing on youtube
I like all 3. ::raising flameproof shields:::I’m sure there there’s some, but from what I’ve seen most people who dislike Discovery and Picard actually like LD. And, to a lesser extent, vice versa.
To that I usually say, "What show have *you* been watching? Star Trek has always been like this!"Another topic might be the people hating the “wokeness” of new trek, I guess, who seem to dislike all of it.
So what will we see Pakleds calling Starfleet mail captains? And since they're not terribly bright they just call every Starfleet captain and ship they run into as "Janeway" and "Enterprise." They probably understand on a deeper level that Janeway is just one commanding officer out of many but with their speech patterns they refer to anyone in a Starfleet uniform with a Captain's rank or higher "Janeway."
obviously not: see all the times one character has to explain a trek detail to another character! The show is operating under the assumption that every single character on the show has seen every single episode of Star Trek.
another possible explanation: they think janeway is part of the title, not a given name. They probably understand on a deeper level that Janeway is just one commanding officer out of many but with their speech patterns they refer to anyone in a Starfleet uniform with a Captain's rank or higher "Janeway."
