EURO 2020 Thread!

Interesting how England scored twice after Grealish came on. Maybe Southgate should, I don't know, try starting Grealish?

It's tough because you could say that Saka earned his start and with the formation Southgate uses, there's little room for other replacements. He's set on two holding midfielders at all times, can't drop Kane, and can't drop Sterling either. So there's really only one spot for Saka/Grealish/Foden/Sancho.

Saka is good (so are Foden and Sancho of course) but I still think Grealish is their best option there. Phillips should probably be allowed to push up a little more, too; Kane was pretty isolated at times because both Phillips and Rice were staying back so much.

I'd have dropped Kane for Grealish.

I may well have been wrong, but I would.

With a (theoretically) weaker opponent coming up in the QF you'd hope that Southgate would be a bit more adventurous - but he probably won't.

I've waited 25 years since EURO 96 to watch England beat Germany in the knockout stage of a major tournament and it felt goooood.

I'm watchinhg Sweden v Ukraine and am somehow reminded of both the bags you can use inside Ikea AND the ones you can take stuff home in...

England v Ukraine in Q/F...

We've got to win that game. We really should be making the final, no excuses.

We've just had 4 straight games at Wembley and, should we reach the final, would have played every single game bar one in London. We'll just have to suck this one up.

outside of the Euro's it looks like Jadon Sancho is now a Man Utd player and Messi is a free agent.

I wonder who would get Messi ? Chelsea or Man City could afford to pay his salary if they wanted too. I would love to see him play in the EPL.

I think PSG if anywhere, as I just don't think Messi wants to live and play in England. Too rainy and he'll actually be tackled.

Two decent games open the quarterfinals, the result being that Spain will meet Italy at Wembley in the semis.
