I'm wondering how Worf would get along with Rios.....
Well it might explain the lack of Crusher so far in Picard...
Worf would probably tell Rios to lighten up.
Worf, the drama queen, lighten up?
Compared to Rios, Worf is Robin Williams.

But yeah I agree Rios (and this whole crew) gets pretty grim heavy.
Yet his personality split was one of the more fun elements.
And at least despite himself he lends to some pretty outrageous plans too
I think they could share a drink over that....
And both do plenty of that tragic sense of being melodrama
Although it'd have to be Rios over Bloodwine and Pisco with Worf
And Mr. Hospitality version serving the Prune Juice with Worf.

Humor-wise, nothing more.
Worf may not show a sense of humor that often, but at least he has one. Rios, on the other hand...I don't know if he's even capable of telling a joke.

As "Broken Pieces" indicates Raffi seems to rationalize they are all "networked" to Rios. The "self-scan" took not just his appearance, but different aspects of his personality engrams into each.
So they are all still connected and aspect of Rios. (or rather; him split up, each took from his personality what it could use to best serve that Emergency Holo's function )
Raffi: "So you're all Rios, overlaid on the five basic installs?”

My reading of it was that the various personalities of the holos were pre-programmed, part of the basic install, with the face and memories of Rios overlaid on top.
That said, you are right that we've seen a lot more personality from Rios than some here seem to recognise.
I assume Rios hates Mr Hospitality because of his obsequious personality.
Agree on your reading on the base Holo personalities would have been part of a basic default, (although I do like the idea, the end result are likley a mishmash of both) since it didn't just pull from Rios likeness, but his actual memory engrams too, in creating the versions we see.
Those memories would have effected their personalities too.
Not sure what a default "personality" would have been for any of the specific Holos without seeing them (although you can imagine especially with the more eccentric who they are) , like with VOY's Dr. we can assume the basic was based on an original template, then extrapolate.
With the Emergency Medical (Emil) who as indicated earlier (to my surprise on seeing Cabreras' interview) accent, temperament and personalty was actually the most like Cabreras himself (meta aspect of Rios since hes' played closest to his real self ).
EG. if the template for an Engineer was a generic Scotty type, then with Rios' memories and likeness overlayed, we get Ian, a mishmash of both the template, and Rios (not just look, but memories and personality) onto what would be an Engineer.
How much is Rios how much is the template likley depends on the individual Holos and what they got meshed with.)
Most telling is Emmete whose specific Chilean drawl and laid-back personality I can't imagine would have been a default for an Emergency Tactical. so that had to be pulling from Rios own memories and personality.
What came from where, how much is the default Holo vs Rios in each, where one begins and the other ends, is part of the fun of it.
The scene where poor Raffi tries to extrapolate information, break down and navigate between them all (what she calls "five broken pieces of Captain Rios") as they all refer to Rios in the third person, yet simultaneously have fractured pieces of his actual memories, was as she said "an absurd spectacle", and pure joy to watch. One of the highlights of the series

Now, I knew Cabrera's base accent for English is English because he's an actor I've been familiar with since Heroes, way back when, and I've seen him in a bunch of other shows since. Emil's accent is a lot more clipped than Cabrera's normal speaking voice, mind. He went to school in London and I can hear it in his voice in interviews. Emil's accent is more RP.Mirror Universe Picard characters...Mirror Universe Picard himself...doesn't bear thinking about!
