Spoilers Star Trek Picard Season 2 Hopes and Predictions

star-trek-picard-dog-number-one-1579169753.jpg

That's Orla Brady with Patrick while they were filming in La. I just saw this photo on Twitter .I saw a new picture of Number one the dog on Trek Central's twitter page too.
I do hope Laris(Orla Brady) and #1 join the crew of La Sirena.

Following up here well cause S2 hopes.
I don't know the context or implication of the Number One picture Tweet, haven't seen or confirmed it my self?
If Laris and Number One, are showing up again, I imagine Picard is just checking back in at the Vineyard, before being pulled into his next adventure.

However, if for some reason he was able to bring Number One along, and have him with, in his holo-office and quarters aboard La Sirena.
I now have to wonder, how well would dogs interact with holos designed for humans?
My understanding is dogs primarily process much of the world through smell, then hearing, site and touch.
So do holos smell?

And if they do, is it enough to convince a dog he is in that environment, or interacting with that holo thing or person?
(Porthos notwithstanding) Would a dog be happy running around in a holo projection of a farm or field, chasing a holo rabbit or squirrel, etc. or see (smell) through the illusion, and just interact with the room as is? Would a dog care or know the difference?

I'm really curious too about Picard's dog number one I just saw a new photo on Twitter of Patrick and the dog Number one. They're both sitting in chairs near the chessboard from the season 2 preview. I saw the this image and it makes me curious what's going to be happening with Orla Brady and Number one too in season 2.I'm suprised we haven't seen new photos of Isa Briones or Evan Evagaora filming season 2 yet.

If Picard is Batman, then Laris and Zhaban are his Alfred Pennyworths.

Wasn't Alfred a former commando back in the war? He and Laris would have that much in common.

If internet rumors (which had great success when predicting season 1) we will be seeing at least 3 other TNG cameos....

Rumored storyline leaves a lot to be desired however.

If they're just internet rumors, then why not post names for the cameos?
La Forge, Wesley Crusher, EMH . Q is in every episode, Guinan won't be

As both seasons are shooting together there is possible overlap for more characters appearing in season 3 as well.

If it's an internet rumor, there's no reason to put it in spoiler tags. Besides, the entire thread is listed as a spoiler, so double-wrapping something you randomly heard (unless from a known source connected to production) is not necessary.

That being said, much of what you have listed has been contradicted by the corresponding actors. For example, per John de Lancie, Q is only in about seven episodes of S2. Levar Burton has said he won't be in S2, but I suppose that could mean he's in S3.

He was great when squaring off with Picard but like everything else Voyager butchered him

I wouldn't say he was sullied, he just got shoehorned in to attract longtime TNG viewers to VOY, he only had a couple of significant appearances, and the Civil War thing seemed mainly a charade to entertain the people from the 3rd dimensional plain. He was very funny in Lower Decks.

What's your prediction, can one get on board with this 'Picard' series if one hasn't watched the first season? There are several reasons why I'm not interested in the first season but after learning that Q will appear in the second season that made me wonder. Might the second season begin with a massive "previously on Picard" introduction or will it just, well, start and that's it?

Picard and Q together might be a must watch. Might be, who knows what happens in the series.

It will be a time travel style exploration of Picard's life involving Q as a kind of "Ghost of Christmas Past" type guide. So, if you liked a story like that then you'll probably be intrigued.

The first season appears to be largely irrelevant, other than (hopefully) Picard's android body actually mattering.

Well, if it's anything like the Muppets with Michael Caine it should be interesting.

The more I hear the rumors of the storyline for season 2 the more I now think it's going to be a combination of Tapestry, Times Arrow and a peppering of the Enterprise temporal wars.

man, the more I hear about season 2, the more it seems Chabon's influence will be missed. The plot, as known so far, doesn't interest me the slightest

It doesn't seem like it builds logically on any of the threads from the first season at all. Seems like a soft reboot TBH - just like Discovery.

I'm having a hard time seeing a meaningful role for the entire extended cast of Picard in what has been outlined so far as well. Which is a big problem, because either they'll come across as largely irrelevant to the season (much as Elnor was in Season 1) or they'll feel the need to throw in a bunch of side plots which go nowhere yet allow them to have something to do.

I'd like to see Raffi being apologized to by everyone who thought she was crazy about the mars attack. Clancy officially acknowledging that Oh was a mole and the Tal Shiar had a deep foothold in SF Security for years. Raffi's son telling her he was wrong and she was right all along. Some kind of consequences of that part of S1. They can ignore the admonition tentacle monster and never mention it again for all I care XD
