4. Everyone seems to like me or at least have no issue with me, including both of the principal antagonists. That's probably natural in one case (despite the qualifier of "perhaps surprisingly" in Clue #1, above), but somewhat unexpected in the other.

Droxine?

1) I can only think that she gets on well with her father. Surprising? Maybe, considering she appears to be artistic compared with his brutality. Touching? They go arm in arm up to the gallery view. This too is perhaps surprising, given father and daughter usually only go arm-in-arm at the wedding ceremony.

2) She says she will go to the mines. Really? Then again, who are we to judge.

3) Her dress is very tight-fitting. Does her garment symbolise the restrictions on who can and can't live on Stratos? A tight-knit society?

4) Her father naturally gets on with her, being her father (indeed, despite the surprising nature of the tactile relationship they have). Vanna, too, appears to be absolutely fine with her. Her anger is directed largely at Plasus.

How's that?

Exactly! Could not have explained the clues better other than to say that I didn't mean physically touching in #1, although they do walk arm-in-arm, but emotionally touching. I particularly like it when Droxine talks about calling up to the Enterprise to reach Spock and says smilingly, "Shall we try?" Given that Plasus is pretty quick to anger and runs out of patience with just about everyone else very quickly after meeting them, the fact that he and his daughter get along so well is moving. And yes, as to clue #4, everyone likes Droxine; even Vanna seems to have no real issues with her, just as you said, and apparently lived in her household for quite some time. The Cloud Minders - must . . . type . . . all . . . of . . . that . . . title . . . out () is one my sleeper favorite episodes, but I think Diana Ewing and her character really provide a finishing touch without which I don't think the episode would be nearly as good.
