@batboy853: lol, it's certainly diminutive when compared to the usual transporter pads, but it can still transport the usual 6 people as was seen in DS9. If anything the usual pads are unnecessarily big (and don't get me started on the Disco transporter room, that thing's bigger than Kirk's cabin in TOS!
And yes, the second version of the Defiant transporter room was a redress of the mess hall (meaning a redress of the Saratoga/Odyssey bridge, weird how that turned out). This never made sense to me as it meant this small transporter pad opened up to a huge empty room for no reason. I much prefer the original take that was simply at the end of a corridor, made more sense for such a compact ship as the Defiant, and was a more original idea.
More progress on the room. I've added some acoustic panels on the side walls, similar to those on the Voyager/Enterprise-E transporter room. I've also started work on the aft walls of the transporter itself, though these ones are very much in progress.
The pad itself is now lit and nearly done as well, I redid most of it from scratch since yesterday, as after looking at better references from Valiant I realized how inaccurate my first version was. The side add-ons that make the pad wider (visible in both the linked screencap and on yesterday's renders) are still missing in this new version, but I plan on adding them back.
