Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

It is on mine. It’s not the whole movie and the IMAX scenes are not 4:3. Its slightly more rectangular. It’s 1.43:1 and not 1.33:1, which is also known as 4:3
It really helps make the fight look more epic. Even comes with enhanced colour to make it pop more.

I tried to take screenshots but it wouldn’t let me.

When I read about actors getting death threats, I don't think about "semantics". When someone says "George Lucas raped my childhood" best case scenario he is making fun of real victims of sexual violence, in the worst he really believes that one can retroactively traumatize his childhood. In both cases, he is far from to be a well adjusted person.

Exactly--and that includes those who invest too much of themselves into fictional characters, so if a version is not being All Things to their eyes as only they have imagined it, such a person or groups spew unfounded accusations at a filmmaker, as if he took something away from them (that they have never had control over in the life of the character).

Yes, emotions run deep. But, words have meaning.
Indeed.

Here's my thing and I'll be as broad as I can be because I don't think this board is the only place it can happen. Fans are passionate people, and a lot of times these characters or franchises take on something of a personal feeling, that requires defending. That if someone comes out it from a different point of view then it complete ignores history, what a thing "should" be, etc. Add in the anonymity factor of the Internet and it creates a powder keg that can devolve in to personal insults, extreme language and vile rhetoric rather quickly.

I get the passion for iconic figures like Superman. I get that Snyder's films are controversial. But, no where in his films was Superman ruined, because, as has been noted multiple times in this thread Superman (and the other characters) all have a long history. And that means that different iterations are allowed to be produced without ever taking away from past productions.

Quoted for truth.

I little off topic, but I find interesting on the subject of toxic fandom. Katie Lucas (daughter of George) wrote this on Twitter about the "raped my childhood" thing:
Just FYI-- putting CGI in a movie, adding a line, or making an ewok blink does not qualify as sexual abuse, and referring to it as such

makes you a heartless bastard. I dare you to look a victim of sexual abuse in the eye and say that George Lucas raped your childhood.

Hate the movies, be mad about them, cry about them-but don't equate them with being sexually violated,

because thats not even in the realm of what happened to you. Its not cute, its not 'new' anymore, it doesn't make you look more clever

it makes you look STUPID. USE THE FUCKING DICTIONARY. RAPE IS NOT WHAT A MOVIE DID TO YOUR CHILDHOOD. End of story.
Well, for curiosity I went to the most famous Star Wars board to read the comments on that and people there were actually offended by Katie's words. Didn't she know what his father did!?! "Rape" was the right word to use!

Edit: err, it seems that people got offended on Trekbbs board too...

Oh well...

"George Lucas raped my childhood" was always intended to be a phrase loaded with hyperbole. Explaining why it's not correct isn't going to stop anyone from using it. Not to mention, rape doesn't only mean sexual assault.

That's not to say I would defend fans that seek out and attack someone personally. I do not like those people.

Edit: Ah jeez, she wrote that a decade ago. Talk about dredging up old news.

This particular expression could be a little out of fashion now, but if anything the fandom only gotten worse since then. Just look what happened with the more recent movies. And even here, where fortunately we skipped the worst excesses, we had infinite discussions on why Rey is such a "Mary Sue" (that means she did the same things that the other SW main characters had done before, but since she is a female, this thing is bad for nebulous reasons).

Just started watching the Snyder Cut - and TBH, I’m loving it! I especially love the redone visuals of chapter 2: Age of Heroes - and overall, it visually appears more interesting than the Joss Whedon release, IMO.

PS: I’m not finished yet, so my comments are a WIP, but my initial impression of s positive, and I’d like to see more!

The space bridge only works if the mother boxes achieve unity.

Locking down a constantly moving point in spacetime.

Earth is spinning on it's axis, the axis is revolving around the sun, the sun is revolving around the galactic core, and the galactic core is spinning around the centre of the universe (which is New Genesis and Apocolips!!!) which is spinning around the Multiversal core, which may be where the DCU new Gods are living.

Triangulation.

Oa is at the canter of the universe. Maybe the Center of the multiverse?

Could have used a few more lines to explain that plot hole.

Save for the times I heard it used genuinely.

I know people use the phrase for sexual violence exclusively these days, and take offense when it is used in any other way but the word rape means to take something forcefully and it has been used that way for many years. The Rape of the Lock or De Do Do De Dah Dah by The Police as two examples.

In that sense the George Lucas accusations mean exactly what people are saying--and that is not to say I, in any way, agree with that accusation--it is still bullshit.
