I don't give an iota about Snyder who who
Fans have demonstrated repeatedly that this is not the case. From death threats towards Meyer for killing Spock, to, as @Skipper noted, Lucas raping childhoods with the Prequels.

Yes, emotions run deep. But, words have meaning.

Fans are pretty scummy in general. Entitled, loud idiots. TrekBBS is pretty cool though. Facebook fan groups are mostly puss-filled cancerous orifices.

Well even here, which is a well moderated board, still sometimes there is someone who thinks that a thread about, I don't know, the art of the Japanese origami, is the perfect place to rant about how Discovery (or "STD", like these people love to call it, because they think it's very mature to call a TV shows as a venereal disease) is a betrayal to Star Trek itself and its creators literally desecrated Roddenberry's grave and performed inmentionable acts on his corpse.
Then they rant on Burnham being such a "Mary Sue". They don't know exactly what it means, but it's related to her doing exactly what every other main Star Trek character did, while being a female. And this is something that makes them very insicure.

I'm a member of a Facebook group called "Doctor Who fans who actually like the show". Sad that such a distinction has to be made.

Here's my thing and I'll be as broad as I can be because I don't think this board is the only place it can happen. Fans are passionate people, and a lot of times these characters or franchises take on something of a personal feeling, that requires defending. That if someone comes out it from a different point of view then it complete ignores history, what a thing "should" be, etc. Add in the anonymity factor of the Internet and it creates a powder keg that can devolve in to personal insults, extreme language and vile rhetoric rather quickly.

I get the passion for iconic figures like Superman. I get that Snyder's films are controversial. But, no where in his films was Superman ruined, because, as has been noted multiple times in this thread Superman (and the other characters) all have a long history. And that means that different iterations are allowed to be produced without ever taking away from past productions.

I think the argument happening here is that superheroes should belong to kids, and taking them away is ethically wrong.

If George Lucas did rape 2 or three billion childhoods, over the last 2 decades, technically doesn't that make him the worlds greatest lover?

    Don Juan can suck it.

Just a FYI that the remastered version of BvS is now on HBO Max. It’s even been upgraded to 4K

I'll probably watch that before I finally check out the Snyder cut. I've only ever seen the theatrical cut of BvS.

Does only the 4k version have the 4:3 imax scenes? I just tried in 1080p and didn't see any.

It does. The Knightmare and Batman/Superman fight scenes are in 1.43:1 IMAX. I don’t know if there are others. The movie has been replaced with this new version so there isn’t a 1080p version anymore.
I’m personally waiting for my blu ray until I watch it

Just checked. Both of those scenes are still widescreen.

Skip to the fight about 2 hours 5 minutes in. You’ll notice that is in the new ratio.

Why is your phone playing 1080 p?

Surely the streaming service and the phone would collude to scale the movie down to 480p.

Even new phones from 2018 have tiny hard drives and bauk at rendering that high a resolution.

I don’t know what resolution it plays on the phone but the aspect ratio is correct.
