Same. Archangel was the badass ultracool hard edge 80's upgrade.
They were an odd mix. Superspy ex villain, Demi-god, motorcycle riding demon and two left over mutants.

That's what I thought but I just wanted to make sure what with the definitive article there.

I feel like this is the kind of line-up that'd work best if given to a Gunn or a Waititi...I mean there's no way you should be trying to play that straight.

I liked Champions as an Iceman/Angel team up in an era where they didn't have a team. I also liked when they had Black Widow associated stories (and Hercules was used OK). Ghost Rider never seemed to work on that team at all. I would have preferred Athena/Venus from the earliest stories sticking around instead (although I guess you can't have two women on a team in that era). The book lasted something like 12 issues in an era where most made it past 100 so it's really a footnote. The fact that it gets referenced and the name has been reused is probably a testament to the impact it somehow had despite being a terrible idea.

It was either the second or third issue of Marvel's Godzilla back in the late-seventies where Godzilla attacked San Francisco and the Champions, along with SHEILD, tried to stop him.
At one point, Godzilla's foot came down on Hercules.
Hercules then proceeded to use his strength to flip Godzilla over onto his back.
So, score one for Hercules and the Champions.

My idea too - when i first saw the promo pic for Guardians i thought this is it, this will be their first bomb at the box office but it turned out to be one of the best movies and even after 22 the first Guardians movie is stil in my top 3.

I still remember all the fun I had bumping all the "Guardians will bomb!" threads on IMDB when it finally came out.

I think they're doing Marvel Zombies as an episode of What If?

I don't think it's going to be called "Young Avengers". But there will, I expect, be an "Avengers 5" with those characters at the heart of it, along with Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, and a few others held over from Phases 1 thru 4.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Black Widow may be unavailable...

I still remember being at a wedding telling my less comic booky friends that the next MCU movie was going to feature a talking raccoon and talking tree.

Nah. Avengers 5 will be way bigger than the young characters. There are still tons of holdovers from the older stuff and tons of new characters that won't have anything in common with this super-young set of heroes. These characters are definitely being set up for a Young Avengers project, which is probably not going to be a movie. Some of them will be in Avengers 5, too, when it happens, but they won't be the core of it.

Hmmm, I wonder what that would mean for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
The rest of those figures seem to be from the movie since those look like the actors' likenesses, so I would assume that means Mr. Hyde is in the movie.
The only way I could maybe see getting around AoS is that they never called Zabo Mr. Hyde, so they could always create a new character or just call him Mr. Hyde with no other name.

For that matter, they never explicitly called him Zabo. He was just "Cal," implicitly Calvin Johnson (Daisy's father), and he mentioned in one episode that he adopted a more villainous-sounding pseudonym for a while, without ever specifying what it was.

I don't know, I mean if they're going with Secret Invasion then it seems like the obvious way to go is to have all the older, established characters be the ones replaced by Skrulls, leaving it to the younger generation to save the day, no?
I mean let's be real, it's not like they'll be actual kids or anything since they're already going to be in their mid to late teens when they're introduced over the next few years, and most likely in their early 20's by the time the next Avengers movie happens (or the one after; whenever this goes down.)

Assuming he's in the movie (which, if he is, is an odd choice), the question is whether it could be consistent. I lean towards recast over reboot when possible unless they can't be reconciled.

As Christopher mentioned, he was never called Calvin Zabo or Mr. Hyde on Agents of SHIELD. The only real thing that connects him to the Mr. Hyde of the comics is his relationship with Quake.
