More like a large heaping dose of salt. I'll be very surprised if that report turns out to be true.

If it is true, I'll be curious to see how much they adapt from the movie and animated series and how much they adapt from the original comic.

I was unaware of this, but I read today that Olivia Wilde is supposedly attached to direct an upcoming Spider Woman movie for Sony Pictures and there's a fan petition going around wanting Daisy Ridley for the part.

James Gunn was on social media again talking about Guardians 3. Will start filming the end of the year and he said Taika read Vol 3 script before writing Love and Thunder and they discussed in depth what was going on with the Guardians.

He is also halfway through filming the Peacemaker series.

So it looks like we're probably going to get a bigger gap between it and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, than we got between TF&TWS and WandaVision. I'm a little disappoint, since I was hoping we'd go from from on to the next with only a week or two between each one.

Probably thinking we'll just be even hungrier for more if there's a Spring Gap.

    And of course, they're right.

Could also be just that they still plan to release Black Widow in May and want all the focus on that, instead of splitting people's attention between it and Loki.

It's almost like posting unverified stories from unreliable sources is a waste of time or something...

Oh yeah, that makes sense. I was so focused on the shows, I forgot all about Black Widow.
The article talks about doing a second season of WandaVision, but I can't really see how the current set up for the show could continue into a second season. If it did come back, it would pretty much have to be a very different kind of show.

It doesn't really talk about a second season of WandaVision so much as it talks about how they're not planning a second season of WandaVision anytime soon given the narrative is designed to dovetail into 'Multiverse of Madness'....but that at the same time, they're not discounting the possibility.

I think it's a safe bet that the likes of WandaVision, FatWS, and Loki are only really supposed to be one-offs (with the possibility of further one-offs later down the line on a case by case basis), while 'Ms Marvel', 'Moon Knight', 'She Hulk' etc. are more geared towards multiple seasons. 'Hawkeye' could go either way depending on whether it's just meant to set the character up for later appearances in the movies, or be more it's own thing.

Honestly, the idea that they might be shifting the origin stories for the b-listers onto the streaming episodic format while the movies are reserved for the "event" stories is kind of genius.

Agreed on all of that although there are unconfirmed reports that Loki is getting a second season. I say unconfirmed because outlets like Deadline have reported it but I don't believe Marvel has officially announced it.

I understood the article, I guess I just worded my post weird.
That's pretty much the way I've felt about things. I'm curious how big of a role the TV heroes will play in the movies when they show up.
Oh yeah, it's a great way to give characters that might not necessarily support a big, $100,000,000 movie a chance.

I think the key difference lies in the premise of each story. WandaVision is so very specifically about "WandaVision" that there really can't be another season. Now you could still have another show that features the same characters, but it won't be WandaVision.

Honestly I get a similar vibe from Loki, so I'll be surprised if they continue that premise beyond what they've already done. Or put another way: I have a hard time seeing them holding anything back for another season. Seems like between WandaVision and Loki they're just going for it. Again though, they might do another Loki show, but it'd probably be another Loki show, not Loki season 2.

Think of it this way: The movies are akin to graphic novels, while the Disney+ shows are either akin to the monthly comics, or they're like the limited run miniseries/Max imprint books.
More to the point, it takes the logistical narrative pressure off of the team-up movies when introducing major characters that don't rate movies of their own. No need to clunkily shove their story into the margins, or have them eek out an existence as bit players in other character's stories, as Wanda & Vision have done until now.
When Kamala Khan inevitably shows up in a future Avengers movie, it'll be as seamless as Peter's introduction in 'Civil War' because the audience is expected to already know who she is.

Had this been in place (and even remotely feasible) for phase 2, we probably would have gotten a season of Wanda & Quicksilver prior to AoU's release, and another of Wanda & Vision show prior to 'Civil War'. Hell, in the even less likely scenario it could have been done for phase 1, we would have gotten a 'Black Widow & Hawkeye' show between IM2/Thor & Avengers.

It would also be a good way to introduce some of the FOX material to the MCU. The X-Men and the FF could use the length of the series format to provide an explanation of how they fit into the MCU that a feature movie just wouldn't have the space to tell.
