I would have loved...

to see 2 episodes or so of DS9 or VOY where we see the DS9 and Voyager crew mingle together, chat, we could actually see Wildmans husband. Of course this means we would see the original crew so no Torres, Chakotay, Tuvok. But it would have been nice to see more of the Original CMO, Stadi, Cavit, the original unseen Chief Engineer before they died 15 minutes into the show. We could have even seen Janeway on the Defiant or Sisko on Voyager. So many missed opportunities.

At least we had Harry and Tom in Quark's. But we didn't see any relevant interactions.

It would have been nice to see Seska with Garak. :cardie:

Cavit and Stadi might have been interesting. But I never cared for the original Doctor aboard Voyager. He was quite bland, I never missed him.

We didn't see enough of Cavit to care for him when he was killed off.
Wildman's husband would have been a great asset and interesting to watch. We didn't see much of the Delaney sisters throughout the show.

On the other hand: there was a small DS9/TNG crossover at the beginning of DS9 - with just Picard meeting Sisko. Or in another TNG episode just Data meeting Bashir. I guess they didn't want too many characters steal the show from each other.

You'd think shows running at the same times would be ripe for crossovers. We got Troi in 3 VOY episodes, then Q would be up there with 4 appearances outside of TNG.

Q didn't work very well on DS9, though. Except....

I mentioned this before for this idea If 90s Star Trek had done Arrowverse-style crossovers but for Season 7 of TNG and Season 2 of DS9 there would be multiple episodes where not only the Maquis were introduced but you have Sisko and Picard's crew interacting with each other and with people like Chakotay, B'Elanna, Cal Hudson. Basically as the Trek version of how Legends of Tomorrow was set up where a lot of the cast were introduced in prior episodes of other shows, so you might see Commander Janeway in one random episode of the season and Tom Paris having his one mission with the Maquis in another. This is not something I think they should have done, just something I thought was cool as a thought experiment.
On the OP's idea I think there are two good ideas there: having a DS9/Voyager crossover and seeing Voyager's original crew operating. The latter might have been cool for a few scenes in Shattered and I think the former would probably have been good as some TV movie event, separate from the series and away from worrying about continuity, akin to how B5 did TV movies in between events. Again, not something I think they had to do, just a neat idea to me.

It would have been fan service for DS9 fans, but confused and turned off TNG fans at the exact moment when they needed to attract them to watching the new series.

A crossover episode for the Enterprise at DS9 would have been fun too, but never happened after the pilot.

One way they might have been able to do a crossover without losing momentum, is just do a flashback crossover with the original VOY crew. I have long been curious about that original crew. It would've been nice to see a two-parter with them. Not sure how it would tie into what was going on on Voyager in the present, but still I would've liked to have seen that.

In the VOY thread I had a similar wish as the OP, and was thinking that the VOY episode "Message In a Bottle" would've been an easy way to do a crossover, by using the Dominion as the thieves of the Starship Prometheus instead of the Romulans.

Also would've loved to have seen more TNG/DS9 crossovers. Still wish that we had gotten the end of the Worf/Troi relationship on DS9, and also it would've been nice to see more TNG crewmembers at Worf and Dax's wedding. I also wish we had gotten more TOS/DS9 crossovers. DS9 could've been a great place to see Uhura, Chekov, Sulu, Saavik, or Demora Sulu again.

I've thought since it was still on the air that Voyager should have had an episode after getting home.

Having a two part finale that added as a coda for the 24th century era with cameos from TNG and DS9 would have been fantastic.

If you were doing these shows today, you'd certainly introduce Voyager and her crew to DS9 for several eps, maybe a season, before breaking off to their own show.
The Berman era was really weird about crossovers and references. It's like he stubbornly refused to recognize the advantage of cross-marketing the shows and films as the Trek universe grew. (and I blame him because he had the last word on this kind of thing when he ran Trek- maybe someone else was responsible, too)

Well... with Voyager and DS9, one was on UPN and other syndicated...so while dedicated fans would watch both, it would be harder for casual viewers. Supergirl and Flash were different networks 1st season, but owned by the same company. So that made it easier
