Hey could be worse they could pull a Moonlighting and have a foot chase across the ship and out a door and suddenly you see it's a soundstage..... That would drive people nuts
something about the Orions, especially the one that runs the salvage yard, looks off to me. Almost like their faces are bad CGI instead of just makeup. It bugs me more and more as I'm going through the season (on episode 8 now)
that explains part of it, although previous treks did full face stuff that didn't look as odd Osira doesn't give me the same weird vibe though so that's good
According to Viacom/CBS Investor Day season 4 of Discovery will land on Paramount+ this year! Whoohoo! Season 2 of Picard and Season 1 of Strange New Worlds will debut next year.
It did start filming in November. So that isn't too surprising. Season 1 started filming in January 2017 and started airing in October 2017 - 9 Months Season 2 started in April 2018 and aired January 2019 - 9 Months I can't find a start date for Season 3. But quarantine def slowed down post-production so it was longer. With everyone having almost a year to adapt to working at home, post-production is probably going a bit faster than Season 3.
I canceled CBSAA after Disco S3 finished, not knowing when we'd get new Trek. After the announcement we'd get three series in 2021, I signed up for a year with a different email so I could get the 50% off for a year deal.
It's a dispute that fizzled out years ago but Alex Kurtzman explicitly said Discovery "brought the look and feel of our Star Trek movies to television" in this recent promo:
Paramount + will finally have 4K and HDR on original series. https://thestreamable.com/news/para...e-downloads-and-easier-access-to-live-content
Not sure what this dispute was, but Kurtzman stated this at least a half dozen times during season 2, including when he said it during the Premiere interviews I was present for. RAMA
Although it says the P+ originals will be in 4K, which is awesome, the article does not indicate if that change will include past seasons of CBSAA originals. After watching the first few episodes of Picard on blu-ray, I’d love to go back and rewatch all of this in 4K. Guess we’ll find out in about a week.
Congrats to Discovery on its 6 CAFTAD nominations https://mobile.twitter.com/StarTrekOnPPlus/status/1365073439300612096?s=20 I'm assuming it counts them as "original series", though whether they took the time to add 4K versions already, I don't know...and yes we'll find out.
