Spoilers Season Two Anticipation Thread

Well, since you said the TNG uniforms were in use at "HQ only" that is also wrong, as we see Captain Benteen and the crew of the Lakota wearing them as well. Hell, earlier in season 4 Worf was still wearing the TNG uniform in The Way of the Warrior and didn't switch until he was officially assigned to the station at the end of the episode. But if you really want to get nitpicky about exactly what you said.
the TNG ones were the only ones in the 2360s,
Which is incorrect, since DS9 season 1 is 2369, showing the earliest point we know the DS9/Voyager uniforms exist. And
the VOY ones were the only ones from about 2371-2373,
We see many in DS9 season 3 wearing the TNG uniforms, and that is 2371. Generations is also 2371 where we see both uniforms being worn on the Enterprise D, by both main characters and background characters. In fact, Picard, Riker, Data and Geordi even wear both uniforms throughout the movie.

Yes, the DS9 ones were supposed to be on stations and bases, and the TNG ones were supposed to be on ships. That was later dropped, explaining the confusion here.

2360s is a broad term meaning the majority of that decade, 2369 is at the very end of that.

I did write "about 2371", did I not?

I think we are way past that.

Suffice to say that I think that Starfleet can be shown utilizing multiple uniforms of different types at the same time. Whether or not they were the only uniform in service is questionable, and frankly, one of the more unrealistic aspects in a franchise filled with unrealistic tendencies. Uniforms don't mean one size fits all.

Hell, most modern day militaries have multiple kinds of uniforms in service at the same time. But I guess that has to be dismissed because "Starfleet isn't military."

Yeah, it's a wild mix. Seriously, just watch any TV show about modern militaries and you'll see. Hell, any random episode of Stargate SG-1 proves the point nicely.

Once I learned how to read rank insignia watching background extras uniform mistakes is rather painful now, like full commander rank on a 20 year old extra.

Jonas Quinn asked when to wear green or blue XD
Other than that, what wild mix did they have?

In a typical episode of just hanging around the base, you had the SG teams wearing fatigues, security personnel wearing BDUs, everyone else wearing either the shirt and pants type uniforms or jumpsuits.

Are T-shirts uniforms? I took them as casual clothing with Hammond not enforcing full uniforms at all times while at the SGC.

The Air Force does have uniform regulation regarding T-Shirts, and they are to be a specified color and are allowed to be worn without the jacket when authorized by the commanding authority. They are to be tucked in when the jacket is off. When the jacket is on the jacket is to be buttoned up save for the top button.

How different are the real-world designs in this wild mix? Pictures, please - all of those on TV seem pretty similar to me.

That 20 year old extra just had an amazing unseen career trajectory. He saved the Earth from a Goa'uld invasion or something.

The actor who played Okona in TNG has said he'll be in Prodigy in an interview.

So why am I posting this here? Because the description of a scene he gives sounds like a Lower Decks scene, so I wonder if he got confused, or if the article writer did.
Later on, Campbell gave some more details about his part, saying that in it, the show’s female lead “goes over the moon” for him, much to the chagrin of the male lead. At the time the podcast episode was recorded, Campbell said his recording was imminent.

I haven't listened to the interview so I don't know if he mentions Prodigy by name, I'm just going by what the article says.

You are right, definitely sounds like a Lower Decks plot. Good catch!
