Best part of game.
Well I beat the three main stories of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. There's some interesting developments that I can't wait to see how they pan out in the DLCs and the next one! Now comes the clean up to get the platinum trophy!
I am playing a small game called Submerged. Very chill relaxed game where you explore a flooded city
I'm trying that at the moment too. I'm at the point where I've met some of the locals, but it hasn't dragged me in as much as I'd hoped.
I am on the PS4 version (its free this month on psn). The fight controls are non-intuitive so far.
The other day I decided to add one more game to my rotation, and started a second attempt at Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. The first time I played I kept getting killed over and over by the same Uruk Captain, which meant he kept getting more and more powerful, and when I got to a point where I had to beat him to continue, I didn't stand a chance. Is all of the backstory stuff revealed through the entries in the pause menu from the books or did they make all of it up from the games? The one I was especially curious about was a reference to Sauron being temporarily captured and held in gold chains.
I'm just thinking about games typed as walking simulators and while they are chill and fun escapes why are most of the stories sad or depressing? Can't someone write a more chill game or something a bit lighter?

Of all of those I seemed to have more fun out of Abzu, Firewatch, Submerged, and Cat Interstellar. I didn't find them nearly as depressing as the others in terms of their stories.

Have you tried Stanley Parabel?
That’s a walking simulator with a bit of a lighthearted approach.
Or Superliminal, if you don’t mind a game that will break your mind.
I'll look at both of those....... Haha that last one, it sounds like one of my Uniengine files for benchtesting only that one is called superposition.
Stably Parable has a free demo, that is not spoiling the game in the slightest, but well worth playing first as a mega-prequel.

I was at one time. It's a seriously addictive game, but I hit a wall a few years ago. Friends of mine were thinking of getting it on PS4, so I might rebuy it so that we can play together, because there are some aspects of the game that are quite tedious that would work out better between friends.
No Epic here..... Don't like Epic just good old steam
From what I know quite a few little quality of life updates have removed some of the game’s more tedious aspects. Also just received a major update with a whole new area. I’d recommend getting it on PC though. The ability to mod makes it so much better.
