That was such a good game. One of my top five of that generation. I about rage quit a few times at the beginning, because I kept getting my ass kicked, but once you unlock more of the stances and get used to the combat, you start to feel like a badass :) I need to check out the multiplayer

It's definitely easy to get caught unaware when you're not used to the combat. You have to block a lot compared to most games, but once you get used to it, it can be pretty satisfying. The game does a good job of easing you into it.

As for the multiplayer, I've been kind of disappointed in it. I always tend to play with a group of at least 2 other people, and while the game has slots for 4 people, the multiplayer story mode is only available for two players, and the only way you'll get up to 4 is in the survival mode which isn't the same thing as you first take over territory and then have to survive against waves of enemies. So the fact that it's been hyped as being available for 4 players is somewhat misleading. And the thing to know about the multiplayer is that you start out underleveled. We had to grind out a bit of the survival mode a few times in order to level up and get better EQ in order to get into story mode. And I kind of wish the story mode were more like RDR2 in terms of using the same map as the base game, but it's far more limited than that. You can't just free roam.

This game might (sadly) never be brought back, as the interest doesn't seem to be there for it (the thing is, this game has the kind of heroine everybody's screaming their ass off about there not being enough in video games, yet they won't bring it back [and they're ignorant about there being none in the past for so long due to them not doing their homework on female characters in video games.)

As for me, right now, I'm playing Sniper Elite IV: Italia, DC Universe Online, and a few others.

Oh, there is interest. There was actually an effort to remaster the games several years ago, I think by Nightdive Studios, but sadly they found out the hard way that the IP was in a legal limbo. Each of the studios involved in the IP, Fox Interactive, and Activision, kept pointing fingers at the other in terms of who owned what, and it's been an tangled ownership mess and it's largely why the IP will never see the light again. It would be great for them to get a remaster, along with a possible 3rd game in the series, as there seems to be a lack of spy themed FPSs in general.

I realize recently that I only played part of the Jak & Daxter PSP spin-off Daxter once, so now that I'm done with Battlefield: Hardline, I pulled out my old first generation PSP and started it. I only played for a few minutes this morning, but what I played was pretty fun.

I'm REALLY wanting to play Forza Horizon 4, but I don't want to play it on my Xbox One S. I platinumed Jedi Fallen Order on PS4 Pro, but I read they did a free upgrade for PS5, so I may need to install it and check it out with those SWEET high rez graphics

^ The PS5 resolution is actually the same as on the PS4 Pro resolution. However the PS5 version runs at 60fps. ;)

After the wet fart that was Cyberpunk 2077, I decided to look at Control on Game Pass. I had so much fun playing, and I was really caught up in the story.

It's an old game but I just started Alan Wake for the first time. It passed me by the first time, but after enjoying Control, one or two websites recommended it. I've done the first episode and I'm loving the atmosphere.

I liked Alan Wake but found the gameplay a little repetitive, no variation in the enemy types or such and that kind of soured me on the game, but I did finish it so there was that I guess. Just I didn't get that caught up in it.

I kind of thought Alan Wake would work better as a TV series, and I think one was being worked on at one time.

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla on the Xbox Series S.

Got it for Mrs. BillJ for her birthday. Very pretty game that runs well on the hardware. Not sure if it is exactly memorable or worth going back to after I put in about four hours today.

Control was also in my top five games of the generation. I had such fun playing it.

One of my first orders of business after getting a Series X is signing up for Game Pass and playing both Quantum Break and Alan Wake

I'd at least give it until you get to England. I thought it was boring as shit and was on the verge of quitting until I left Norway. Now I'm 130 hours into it and have three areas left to clear, two in Norway one in England.

Ubisoft were giving away Assassin's Creed Unity a while back, when Notre Dame burned down. Haven't gotten around to that one yet.

I've been playing Sunless Skies (and watching my partner play Sunless Seas) for the last few weeks. They're both excellent games, and if anything ever made me desperately want an expansive, roleplaying-heavy, combat-lighr, exploration-focused single player Trek game...

Just played and finished "What Remains of Edith Finch" via the PC XBox Game Pass.

A short but very interesting and compelling story driven game. I streamed for a friend over Discord and he enjoyed watching it as much as I enjoyed playing it. Walking Simulators are hit n miss but this was definitely a hit.

Oh I love that game.. It's fun isn't it, and I love the art style and floaty writing, music, and everything about it. Liked all the side stories too even the depressing one with the guy who chopped fish, because that was very close to home, souless repetitive work, could relate to that one, oh and if you can you have to play The Unfinished Swan because it tied into the story of Milton from Edith Finch.
