But its such a nice looking game once you get to the open world... Just don't try to cross the border crossing down south. Instant death.

I played a game called find the backups........ I moved my ps4 to my desk for a bit last night and did a big boo boo. I deleted all my savegames and spent time hunting for the drive with my backup on them. Had to restore my ps4 from the last backup to get my saves back.

Bloody foxes in HZD I had to shoot another 4 or 5 to get a skin as it's a rare blue drop and then I was able to purchase the golden travel pass which is unlimited free travel. Originally did have one last night but it was in the save file I had deleted.

    Currently mainly Cyberpunk on PC

So far i have not run into major bugs, the occasional graphics glitch though happens.

Storywise it is really gripping though i'm only about 10 hours in and completed the first act (that had a very sad event for my character). Storywise there is nothing to critique so far, the world feels real and your actions have consequences.

Gameplay wise the game buries you under options, especially the skill system - you have several main attributes which then contain multiple ability/perk trees you can unlock and there's a ton of them.

The same applies to weapons, equipment and even clothing - you can really go all in and it takes a while to figure it all out. Then again it lets you customize your character endlessly - want to be a silent Ninja type, who sneaks around, hacks systems and takes out enemies from behind or do you want to be a tank, kicking in the front door and blaze away with the biggest gun possible, everything is possible.

It seems though the game, i.e. the main story missions could be done relatively fast. As i said i have barely played 10 hours and completed the first act of three but have also barely touched the map which is blinking in all kinds of colors indicating side missions and locations of interest.

Apart from the bugs a really interesting game.

Finished Prey yesterday and felt it was a pretty good game. Lots of innovative little things being done with it that make me wish other games would do. I do have peeves though.

I kept running out of ammo. It's not that I was running and gunning, but was trying to conserve as much as possible and still managed to be short of most of my ammo throughout a majority of the game, even when taking into account the crafting I did to make more. It doesn't help that most of the guns feel rather weak until you get further into the game to unlock more neuromods. As it was, I was killing things with the wrench most of the time, even Nightmares, which was rather ridiculous and I don't think it's really what the game intended.

I found the waypoint system confusing. Early on, when I was still getting a feel for the environment, I'd feel a lot of indecision on where to go if one objective had multiple paths. The problem I found is that some would invariably take you down the long way around through multiple zones rather than being the most direct route. I'd have preferred it it only show a waypoint for the shortest path to the ojbective. It was very confusing early on because of this.

Of all the games Bethesda made in that period I had the most fun with Prey. I liked it even more then Dishonored 1 and 2.

Not a game but a real pet peeve of mine with Sony. They designed the ps4 operating system which lets you export things like all your screen captures but you can't import them back into your own console. It's something that has peed people off and they never ever addressed it. Mind you cheapskates used an open source OS as their base didn't they? I mean FreeBSD is the base on which the OS is built. So when I had my mini drama mentioned earlier I had lost all my screen captures too and couldn't import any of them back from the usb I had made.

I loved Dishonored too, and found it quite creative. Never played the second one, but by mistake got the standalone expansion, which doesn't run very well on my PC.

RE: The PS4, yeah, that's an odd one. I don't understand it, because technically your screenshots are just jpegs and there's nothing proprietary about it, and you can easily access them via PC with a memory stick plugged in.

Patiently waiting for S.t.a.l.k.e.r 2 and hoping it's worth the wait.

I know .... But it's so odd you'd design the OS with an option to export to usb but not to import.

I didn’t know that, of course I just got a PS4 a few months ago. But one thing that I really hate with the PS4 (and from the sounds of it the PS5 is lacking it as well) is its lack of CD audio playback. I still use my PS3 to play my CD’s, as CD’s have better sound quality than MP3’s, FLAC’s and AAC’s and what they stream over Spotify. I’ve even imported tracks from my collection to make my own playlist for games. PS4 I think you can import music via USB, but that adds another step, since you have to rip the CD on a computer, convert it to MP3/FLAC/AAC, then copy it to the USB, and then move the USB to the PS4. PS3 (and even the Xbox Series X) allow you to just pop the disc in and then rip it to the hard drive.

I beat Borderlands 3 a few days ago, so now I'm playing Watch Dogs: Legion and Outer Wilds.

Any of you guys and gals played ARK? I don't remember hearing much about it before, but the trailers for the second game and the animated series looked really cool.

I have the Outer Worlds on my steam list but never played it. I want opinions on it as I have heard people with many mixed feelings.

Here's a series I would love to see brought back even if it's a remaster.

Just played RB6 Siege for first time in 6 months with a Twitch streamer who invited me and some mates onto his stream. Most fun I've had with the game in years.

I think it was a bit of a letdown on my first playthrough, it felt a little too similar to Fallout in its execution. But I'll probably give it another go at some point.

Yeah that's the kind of thing other people have said to me as well. But on the plus side the ship's computer is like Android from Dark Matter.

I wrote a quick review on steam for Horizon Zero Dawn.

I loved this game from the very first moment I saw it back in 2018/19 on console. I loved the story, look, and atmosphere of this game. It's got a wonderful story and amazing soundtrack filled with amazing musical pieces which add to that atmosphere.

I love the story of Aloy and how she grew up in this world far from our world where machines have taken over the land and the human race is reduced to a small number trying to survive in various tribes and cities. It was a nice bit of storytelling, and really did suck me into her world.

I love also the design of this world and the landscape, broken old buildings, leftover rust from the present day, and hints that once a long time ago there was a bustling world filled with people moving about and living somewhere in the past.

I can't really fault the game except for the issue with doing game shaders every time the game is launched, that's my number one gripe about this otherwise fantastic game on PC. The shader caching used to run only once until you changed video drivers but for whatever reason the developers chose to change that and frankly I think that was a bad decision, and there was nothing wrong with the way they had implemented that before they changed that in my opinion.

Overall a fun satisfying game 8/10

I started a playthrough of Ori and the Blind Forest.
I am a little bit familiar with the franchise but have no clue about the maps, secrets and abilities.
Playing on Normal difficulty, but it’s enough of a challenge for now.

    quite enjoyable.
Will stream most of it on Twitch by no particular time table.

I finished up Battlefield: Hardline. Still enjoyed it a lot on my second play through.

Just started playing Ghosts of Tsushima this week. It's a beautiful game that feels so serene. Still only into the first few quests, but I'm loving what I'm seeing so far.

Battlefield 4 just because I was curious but a few years on it's still buggy. That same level I couldn't progress from is still there too and the exact same spot is there too, where you board the ship again and clear out enemies it won't let me progress at this point, and it's still bugged out in the exact same location.......
