My guess is something along those lines. Maybe a reunion with Guinan, or another one of the rumored guest stars (Dorn, DeLancie, Picardo, etc). They could be doing table reads via Zoom.

Discofan that maybe true about Micheal Dorn. One of the things he said in the interview he got tired of spending 3 hours it took in the makeup chair for the worf prostectics . I wouldn't be suprised if it was Whoopi Goldberg returning to reprise her role as Guinan.Or as others have said other guest stars too.

Yes, I just realized that I didn't see many heavy makeup aliens in that season?

    Was there even one?

Yes, in the Stardust City Rag episode. But other than that, the most prosthetics/makeup we saw was on the XBs.

It used to be that they did that in central Europe, where the costs were really low...

For the love of CHRIST, could we just put the Picard and Data Show to rest once and for all? :wah::rolleyes:

Probably not. Picard is the greatest of all time, and Data is his prophet.

I know, but the constant focus on Data and Picard hasn't exactly been the best decision since TNG went off of the air. It's been annoying as hell, and I had hopes that a Picard show that wanted to go in a "different direction" wouldn't perpetuate the focusing down to two characters who have had more than their share of the spotlight in the past 2 decades.

Data is dead for real this time, so I don't think we'll be seeing him in Season 2.

Well, Riker got his spotlight in Lower Decks and even in this show, so I don't see the constant focus here, since Data has since passed on and Picard has a new frontier to explore.

Well, to tell you the truth I am not a big fan of Data...

As a matter of fact, the first time I saw him, I didn't know what the show was about and it was the middle of an episode. All I knew was that it was a sci. fi. which seemed pretty obvious but I didn't even know it was affiliated to TOS which I knew mostly by reputation...

Anyway, I would never have guessed that data was supposed to be a robot... To me, he seemed like he had Asperger syndrome, which would also explain why he painted his face yellow. I still see him that way. I loved all Asimov's robot stories (although they weren't all masterpieces, some he seemed to have written in a hurry or against his will) and Data is nothing like those.

I liked Data. But he's dead. His appearance in Picard season 1, while intriguing, was truly unnecessary to the plot. The same result could have been obtained with or without Brent Spiner.

I love how Data's remaining positronic consciousness was allowed to die at the end of Season 1. Whatever issues one has with PIC as a series - and I had some - the way Data was finally written out of the storyline was beautiful and allowed Brent Spiner to give us the Goodbye that NEM should have been had it been less of a hamfisted, rushed action movie. "Blue Skies" playing on the holographic record turntable as Data settles onto his couch to finally die for good and then a holographic image of Picard showing up to hold his hand and give him comfort in his final moments may be one the most beautiful sequences in Trek in the past forty years.

Picard is the name of the show, and Data needed proper closure for 20 years. Many of the best scenes in the show would not have been possible without Data or Spiner.
