What games are you playing currently?

Mudrunner on my Xbox One S via GamePass.

Actually a very relaxing diversion, might pick it up when its time is over on GamePass.

I'm debating doing a second play through of The Last of Us Part II, but the game is a hell of an emotional gut punch, and I'm not sure if I'm in the mood for something like that right now.

On the other hand Prey, a game I didn't like has now become one of my favourites.

I was struggling a bit with it before yesterday, until I finally realized I could drop it down further from easy to story. It's a difficult game, and like Horizon Zero Dawn, it's one I don't mind turning down to the lowest difficulty in order to be able to enjoy it. Encountering a phantom early in the game was quite the shock given how difficult they are, and I've kept regularly running out of ammo, for the Goo gun early on which didn't make for a great impression in terms of game balance. But yesterday after dropping it down to easy, the game just started to click with me. Some of the tech and ideas in this game are quite amazing. Love the use of "portals" as Looking Glass (and good homage to Looking Glass Studios itself given Prey was designed as a System Shock successor), and it's quite freaky when you first break the glass. I also really like their space physics via the suit. When everything comes together, it feels rather unique.

OMG yes flying around outside the space station in Prey feels really grounded like you have to have your wits about you and be aware of where you are, and where you wish to head to, and how to control thrust and momentum...... It's super fun too.

Hey check this out

OMG brings back memories of Backroad Racers by Revell. You had a PC game and model kit and a program that showed you building the model on your screen to guide you.

I finished up Star Wars: Squadrons, and decided to go ahead and start a second playthrough of Last of Us Part II. I forgot just how amazing looking The Last of Us Part II is, it is easily one of the best looking PS4 games. The thing that really gets me is just how amazing the character animations are in this one. They are so smooth and natural looking, and the character's faces are just so emotive. As good looking as games like Asssassin's Creed Origins and Star Wars: Squardrons are, a lot of their character animations still tend to be kind of stiff and robotic at times.

^ Yeah Naughty Dog's character animation is always absolutely amazing. I've been playing a ton of Spider-Man (both Miles Morales and the Remastered original) on my PS5 and while the game looks stunning, the character animation just does not compare to TLOU2.

How much do the other companies, like Insomniac and Ubisoft does mo-cap? I know pretty much all of the cinematics in Naughty Dogs games are fully mo-capped, so I was wondering if maybe that's why their stuff is so much more natural looking.

I'm about 20 hours into Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Like Red Dead II, the game picks up after you leave the snowy area. I've been busy raiding England and building up my settlement.

I also picked up Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PS5, but I think I'm going to wait until I get done with Valhalla, and possibly Cyberpunk 2077 before starting it.

There is a detail in The Last of Us Part II that stood out to me in both play throughs, in the scene where Ellie and Dina are in their underwear in the weed basement, Dina has hairy armpits. I'm just impressed by the fact that they actually thought to add tiny little details that most people probably wouldn't even notice.

I'm dipping back into Saints Row 4.... I tried to model my character off Black Widow but the facial animation isn't that great, or the lighting. Anyway thought I'd share..

Finally it arrived I'm doing Cyberpunk 2077 and having a blast.
I'm not having any of the issues people seem to be finding online. My game is running smooth and I'm getting 100+ fps according to my radeon panel. The game feels smooth and fluid at 1080p.

Thing is I am also using shitty hardware which I find surprising.

Ryzen 52600
RTX 580 4gig
32gig Ram

Never tried it, considering we had the original version of the game. It actually looks pretty good on modern equipment for a fifteen year old game.

I played the current version, never tried the original but found it a fun, fun game. They both look identical with maybe the one change being a single line of dialogue when he captures the blondie near the start of the game.

I'm still working on Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Starting off clunky, the combat has finally grown on me and I'm now tear-assing around England :)

I've also been working on Super Mario 64 on the Super Mario 3D All Stars for Switch. I'm 87 stars in (farther along than I've ever been), and all I can say is God DAMN Shifting Sand Land! Specifically the 100 coin star! I get halfway there, then some bullshit twister or flying ShyGuy comes along and I end up in a death trap quicksand trap

Used to, Wet Dry World or Lethal Lava Land was the bane of my existence in the 90s. Not anymore! I've got all six stars in both areas plus the 100 coin star. Shifting Sand Land can kiss the fattest part of my ass!

It's kind of weird, the first time through The Last of Us Part II, I absolutely could not stand Ellie by the mid-point of the game, but this time I am really liking her. I think it might be that I was to shocked by how brutal she was last time, but now I was ready, and this time I was able to see past it and see how it was really effecting her.

Well, I finally got the 100 coin star in Shifting Sand Land. I'm now 88 stars in, and I have all six stars plus the 100 coin stars in all levels from Bob-Omb Battlefield through Wet-Dry World. I've never been this far before, and all that leaves is Tall Tall Mountain, Tiny Huge Island, Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride. Hopefully, I'll be able to pull it off!

I still haven't bothered to finish the first Last Of Us, I just can't get into it, find everyone irritating.

I've tried at least five times to get into the first game, but I just can't do it. I used to love Naughty Dog's other games from Crash Bandicoot to Uncharted 3, but ever since Uncharted 3, their games just aren't fun for me. Same with Uncharted 4. I tried really hard to like that game, since I loved the first three, but I just found it a chore to play.
