Tech in Discovery S3

EDIT: Cleveland Booker's ship, presumably? [More images below]

Anyway, so my new favorite character, Cleveland Booker, says...
“It’s going to be fun to see characters and species from previous iterations of Star Trek, but 1,000 years in the future, that’s going to be fun,” Ajala says. “The technology is a big deal, my character’s spaceship is incredible, aesthetically, and in terms of what it can do. Specifically, in Episode 7, there is a moment where you see how incredible technology can be.”
So November 26th, episode 7... "Unification III."

(And the cynic in me will predict that that will also be another day when there will be those that say that this isn't Star Trek. But I'm in a good mood, so I'll tell the cynic in me to be quiet.)

Well we learned from that preview article that
time travel was outlawed after the Temporal Cold War.
You fundamentally can't outlaw time travel because people in the future/past won't respect that law.

So if they try to claim that, plot hole.

After three years, I know how to handle them. I've got it down to a science.
Science!

I don't think this is too spoiler-y, but couple the info from the article the other day...
The first person that Burnham encounters in 3188 is a swarthy pirate type named Cleveland "Book" Booker (David Ajala), a courier with a love of animals and a fat cat named Grudge. Book helps Burnham acclimate to her new life in the future before she can reunite with the rest of the Discovery crew...

...with the new IGN images...

...and (more) Grudge

...and I can see where the whole swarthy pirate-type "with a love of animals and a fat cat named Grudge" comes from.

And unrelated, but Adira looking smart in what I assume is their 32nd century uni....

How else are you going to capture time fugitives? Police tend to get to do things that the public can't.
Again though, that requires Time Travel technology, otherwise they will just pop out or never get caught in the first place because Time Travel.

That's why you have Timecops to stop them. Have you never seen Timecop? It's most accurate depiction of time travel ever filmed, it's practically a documentary. In it, time travel is illegal. But people still use it illegally because things that are illegal don't cease to exist (like drugs). So there are time cops monitoring the timeline so they can stop them.

Which again requires the Time Cops have Time Travel technology themselves.

This is saying it was outlawed period, as in, nobody is allowed to have it.

Who cares. The temporal cold war/ time cop starfleet are among the worst concepts the franchise has produced.

Time travel has never made sense anyway. For example why didn't the time cops stop future janeway for wrecking the timeline? Or clean up the mess left from the borg trying to assimilate earth on 2063?

Maybe it's the Whovian in me showing, but the Temporal Cold War was ... tame.

Her doing that may be the only thing that allowed them to exist in the first place.
