Man, I cry at the end of that episode can't stand it. Have to actively put it out of my mind because it is so harsh.

OK, why did nobody tell me that Gina Carano is a gibbering idiot? I feel like this should have come up already at some point...
Yeah, between Carano being a moron (and a dangerous one at that) and what Rosario Dawson is being accused of in a lawsuit (its pretty fucked up), The Mandalorian Season 2 definitely has a few problematic elements of its casting now. I was never a huge fan of casting Dawson as Ashoka, but I liked Carano in Season 1, its unfortunate to learn that she's a giant asshole.
I'm still excited for the show in general, but a few elements are probably going to feel gross.

I know nothing about Dawson (and don't care) but Carano's attitude is just her opinion on a current hot topic thing. That ruins it for people?

She's in the middle of a trial where the defendant, a trans man, accuses her and her mother of harassing him, trying/kicking him out of a place that he was living and even physically assaulting him all because he's trans.
The lawsuit isn't over yet from what I can tell, and of course she's innocent until proven guilty in a legal sense, but its definitely something that could drive people away from the show, and thats very understandable. I personally don't know whether she did it or not, but I'm also not going to disbelieve the potential victim until the thing is over.

Good for you. Personally, someone trying to get people to go out in potentially dangerous situations is a bit more then "her opinion on a current hot topic". I'm not even skipping the show, but I understand why someone would. I've dropped/stopped watching shows based on an actor (or producer, showrunner, etc) being a pile of shit, it depends on the person, what the show is, what their role is, etc. Even if I still watch a show with someone like that, I still acknowledge the problematic parts. Its like how I still love Firefly, but will always mention how Adam Baldwin is a worthless piece of shit.
Like I said, I'm still going to watch The Mandalorian, and probably enjoy it as much as I did in season 1, but I'd be more then fine with Carano's character getting killed off and Ashoka getting recast if they use her again, and if anyone wants to skip the show because of those actors I 100% understand.
It's a complete personal choice and if people choose not to watch it then of course I'll respect that. Same with her sharing her opinions.
This is not an academic matter. In this case, her "opinions" can and indeed thanks to stating them on a public platform probably will get people killed. You can't headbutt a virus and put it in a headlock, and it's not just your life you're taking into your hands by being blase about exposure, it's everyone else you come in contact with AND everyone they come in contact with ad nausium. A good percentage of those will inevitably be elderly, infants and/or of the immunocompromised persuasion, and they don't get a say in this equation.
All of this makes her selfish, irresponsible, and as previously indicated: a gibbering idiot. It won't stop me watching the show, but my respect for her intelligence and integrity is at about a zero from here on out.

I hope the show doesn't get "too" big.. in scope. The appeal of the first season was that it was "off to the side" of all the big stuff, and all the stakes were self contained in these episodes. Favreau used both new and experienced directors and they were all trying to cut their teeth on how to make SW work as a show, by figuring out how to shoot different kinds of action scenes that were intimate
Looks interesting. I'm looking forward to delving deeper into the Mandalorian/Jedi history. And who is that at :49? Ahsoka? It does kinda look like Rosario Dawson. Or is it some random Jedi we don't know? Or even just a red herring?

yeah I think it was taken from the Blacksmith's dialogue in season 1. But the first season trailers had Warner Herzog.. who is irreplaceable
